The Stray Pursuit Release New Single ‘Mess With My Head’

The Stray Pursuit return with their powerful new single ‘Mess with My Head’.

Swansea band The Stray Pursuit return with their exciting new single ‘Mess with My Head’ it captures the chaos and intensity of young love, set against the backdrop of living at home and fixating on someone new. With raw emotion and infectious energy, it unravels the tension of heated arguments and the mental tug-of-war that comes with a relationship growing more serious.

Rife with gritty guitars, punchy drums, and emotionally raw yet melodic vocals.  It carries a sense of frustration and urgency, blending angst with anthemic hooks. The song’s themes are both personal yet universal, concerned with mental health struggles, overthinking, and toxic relationships, giving it an emotional yet rebellious edge. With its dynamic melodic shifts, big riffing and powerful delivery, it’s an ambitious anthemic rock sound built for singalongs, it channels the energy of bands like Royal Blood and Nothing But Thieves.

The band recorded the track at Longwave Studios in Cardiff, collaborating with esteemed producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me the Horizon, Holding Absence, Nova Twins). on their debut EP ‘Dominio Effect’.  Hailing from Swansea, The Stray Pursuit emerges as a dynamic force in the realm of Alternative Rock. Distinctive for their guitar-driven riffs and captivating vocals, each track embodies their eclectic musical tastes. Inspired by bands like Catfish and The Bottlemen and The Hunna, and with echoes of the Welsh rock lineage of The Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, and Funeral for a Friend, in the upcoming months they will release more exciting tracks.

The four-piece consists of lead singer Aaron Morgan, lead guitarist Dylan Cooney, bassist Fred Wilkinson, and drummer Ben Lewis. They have supported Andrew Cushin, The K’s, and Vida, and played alongside The Lottery Winners, Pastel, and Trampoline just to name a few. TSP were featured on This Feelings ‘Big in 2020’. In June 2023, they sold out a headline show at The Bunkhouse for their single release ‘Let It Be Known’. They then went on to sell out two out of five dates of their ‘Domino Effect’ debut EP tour in 2024. One in Cwrw, Carmarthen and the other in The Moon, Cardiff.

The band’s origin story traces back to an unexpected bus ride that led Aaron and Fred to forge an unexpected bond. Despite being rivals in separate bands, their chemistry became undeniable during a jam session. The additions of exceptional talents lead guitarist Dylan and drummer Nicky solidified the lineup.  Tragedy struck when founding drummer Nicky Bevan passed away in December 2022. They say “The devastating loss catalysed a renewed purpose for the band: to honour Nicky’s legacy and prove our potential for greatness. He is missed dearly, and will be forever cherished by so many people.”

The pandemic-induced hiatus and Fred finishing university provided growth for the band. Emerging from this break in June 2022, and Ben joining the band later in April 2023, The Stray Pursuit reentered the practice room, channelling their energy into crafting new tracks and elevating their stage presence and live performance, for the songs on their debut EP ‘Domino Effect’.

The Loners Release New Single ‘The Game’

With their particular brand of indie alt/rock, The Loners, are an exhilarating and compelling 3 piece rock band from the UK made up of Nathan De La Mar on Lead vocals and Lead Guitar, Mark Munro on Backing Vocals and Bass Guitar and Stuart Grant on Backing Vocals and Drums.

Since their inception in 2019 The Loners have captured the attention of audiences all around the world with their catalogue of releases showcasing their catchy tunes, unadulterated energy, and thought-provoking lyrics.

The Loners take influence in their sound from the ultimate rock classics whilst also adding in  their own contemporary twist to the music creating a sound that is both nostalgic and avant-garde cutting edge at the same time.

The Loners have a raw genuineness about them that is both relatable and invigorating. Their lyrics they write strike a profound chord with listeners as they explore topics of love, self-discovery, and the human condition. Coupled with their ability to blur the lines of genre between indie and rock, The Loners are a breath of fresh air in a world of repetitive tunes and generic sounds that permeates so much of new music today.

The band have said of the track:-

“The Game was written during lockdown and it is basically about mental health and the effects it has on a person. The word “game,” is used as a metaphor about “Life” and how one might struggle to put on a front for everyone, but may be struggling internally”

‘The Game’ is straight off the bat with high octane power chords and dancing drum beats. Musically it’s ultimately a stadium worthy rock ballad filled with epic guitar solos and thrashing drums, but that is contrasted beautifully with wistful, thought provoking lyricism hinting at the seriousness of the inspiration behind the track. Mixing these two elements together and you really get a feel for where The Loners are trying to go with their music, breaking free from the restraints of what is considered the norm.

The Game was written by Nathan De La Mar and was Recorded and produced by Andrew Shepard at Venice of the North Studios.

Upcoming Gigs/Tours –

19/6/25 – Bannermans – Edinburgh
3/7/25 – Classic Grand – Glasgow

The Assist Release New Single ‘The Luckiest Man’

Birmingham band The Assist are back with an intense depiction of modern day life with their new single ‘The Luckiest Man’. The Council-Pop outfit are one of the UK’s most established underground groups and have redefined the boundaries of independent music with their acclaimed inspiriting style, fresh impetus, hope and melody.

Their latest single ‘The Luckiest Man’ is the second offering from the band’s highly anticipated second studio album ‘Disconnections’. The track details the internal conflict that we so often experience when trying to weigh up chasing success and acknowledging what we already have. Lead singer Mikey provides a ruthless analysis of our personal value systems with a matter-of-fact observation on life today. Touching on what inspired the track, Mikey said “I feel that having a creative personality is often paired with an overwhelming fear of becoming stagnant or potentially even a failure. Consumed by a desire to always progress in all aspects of life I found that I would often disregard all that I already had right in front of me.
It was important for me to detail that in my music. It is now out in the open as a constant reminder for me and anyone else that needs reminding that we have a lot to be thankful for.”

Mikey’s calculated verse depicting a mid-twenties angst sits above guitarist’s Ryan Stanton’s infectious chords, helping the track to glide forward with an ambient lure. Assisted by Jorge Poole’s prolific and ever-present rhythmic drive, the gentle production adds a frightening depth. A kaleidoscopic realm of sounds was created by producer Ryan Malcs (Wolf Alice/Superfood). A production debut that has proven to be the catalyst for the band’s evolution. Mikey delivers a calming vocal with some clear emotion that entices listeners to the message within. Speaking of the song, Mikey said, “The Luckiest Man was my chance to
express my gratitude for all that I have in life. In moments of reflection I felt that by acknowledging what I was truly grateful for I become to no longer desire anything other than friends, family and health. I hope that my music inspires people to think in similar ways but if not I’m grateful that it inspires me.”

Ever since forming in 2014, The Assist have had their finger on the pulse of how the modern generation consume music. Soaking their soaring indie anthems with hip-hop-inflected beats, dance-tinged rhythms and emotive breakdowns. It’s this eclectic adventurism that has seen The Assist sell out venues across the UK as well as share the stage with Blossoms, The Twang and Dylan John Thomas. ‘The Luckiest Man’ is another entry to the band’s commendable canon, who are most certainly in the Jack Grealish category of assists. Speaking of football, the band previously enjoyed a starring slot on the landmark television show Soccer AM. Whilst away from the pitch they’ve graced big stages at festivals such as Reading & Leeds, TRANSMT, Y-NOT and Isle of Wight. Their 2021 debut album, ‘Council-Pop’, entered the UK charts at number 21 and led to a top 10 independent album. You may have previously heard The Assist on BBC Radio 6 and Radio X where they have been praised by the likes of Tom Robinson, Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy.

As much as The Assist’s more reflective notions have shone through in their most recent releases, this track is an embodiment of who the band are as people. With 2024 came a new-found pride in their art, their biggest ever gigs, and now, an extended catalogue of youthful indie-anthems tucked into their back pocket.

Their upcoming album ‘Disconnections’ is out on the 2nd of May.

23rd May – The Old England – Bristol

LLoren Releases New Single ‘La La Love’

Former ‘The Voice’ finalist and renowned TV sync music writer LLOREN releases her next single ‘LA LA Love’. The track is a slow-burning poignant pop song that is wrapped in a gorgeous atmospheric production and feels like all the best romantic film moments washing over the listener in a tide of beautiful reflection.

“I was really inspired by Lana Del Rey on this one—her ability to paint a romanticised picture of her relationships while also seeming to ask bigger questions, at least in my experience”, says LLOREN. “La La Love is a fictional story that plays with elements of truth, based on my time in L.A. I wanted to lean into that classic Hollywood romance on the surface while also addressing the more sinister side of having big aspirations. It’s easy to be taken in when someone promises to make all your dreams come true. There are plenty of devils in the City of Angels.”

Hit TV show The Traitors, Grey’s Anatomy, The L Word, 1923, Wish, The Company You Keep, Made In Chelsea, Love Island UK and Love Island USA are just some of the many sync credits LLOREN has amassed to date, which have steadily proved her rich, multi-faceted vocal and powerful contemporary inspired compositions to be a cut above the rest.

‘LA LA Love’ is another superb new example of this high quality in LLOREN’s work and another taster of her hugely anticipated forthcoming debut album ‘It’s Always Sunny in LA’. Tracks from the record have already picked up airplay from BBC Radio 2’s Angela Griffin and Radio X’s John Kennedy and press acclaim from prestigious music tastemakers The Line Of Best Fit, as momentum continues to build. LLOREN’s video for her track ‘Like This’ also won a Telly Award in the US, as well as also being nominated for a prestigious Leo Award in Canada.

LLOREN appeared at The Gibson Garage All Day Festival in London earlier this year and has also recently opened for American artist Fleurie on her European tour. During that tour, she also caught the eyes of promoters who invited her back to open for household names Johannes Oerding and Michael Patrick Kelly and an audience of 10000 people. In the UK, LLOREN is no stranger to the annual PRIDE celebrations having played both Manchester and London where she headlined the women’s stage and has entertained crowds over 10,000. She has also toured with Canadian artist Mauvey with whom she collaborated with on the track ‘Pillow’, performing it at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend as well as the Isle Of Wight Festival 2023.

‘LA LA Love’ is out now via A&G Records.

Martyrs Release New Single ‘Night Shift’

Welcome to the ‘Night Shift’, the new single from the genre-defying Martyrs, available on all streaming platforms now!
A ferocious blast of melodic, metallic fury, the track is yet another sharp left turn from the Welsh DIY duo following their brief foray into flamenco-fuelled indie rock, ‘Pin Blue Sometime’ earlier this year. ‘Night Shift’ is available as a Free Bandcamp Exclusive maxi-single as well as appearing on all streaming platforms.

This time around Jon and Michael mine their experience of dead-end jobs to tell a tale of workplace macabre stretched taut over a sky-scraping wall of sound. Entirely incapable of adhering to genre confines, what begins as a seemingly straightforward homage to the likes of Soundgarden and Faith No More, soon warps into a wild array of chant-along choruses handclaps and ‘50s rock n’ roll inspired refrains. B-side ‘The Clinic’ is a haunting experiment in spoken word sound collage inspired by the novel The Empusium by Olga Tokarczuk.

Martyrs are Jon and Michael, who began making music together in their hometown of Merthyr Tydfil aged 15. Confirmed genre agnostics, their output swerves between lo-fi electronica, picture-perfect post-yacht, ‘90s-tinged alt-rock and melancholic indie, sometimes within the same song.

Musical influences range from Amadou & Mariam to Richard Dawson, Khruangbin to Christopher Cross, Aphex Twin to Iron Maiden, with a particular focus on pro wrestling entrance themes of the 1980s. Broader inspirations are drawn from Giallo movies, VHS nostalgia, cold brew coffee and Dylan Thomas.

Entirely independent and passionately DIY, their work is written, recorded, produced and released from the confines of their respective kitchens, with all videos made by their own fair hands. They give much of their music away for free and the rest they sell to benefit charities close to their hearts.

Support from local radio and blogs helped their 2024 album ‘Luminism’ sell out of physical copies and reach 100,000 streams. Their last single ‘Pin Blue Sometime’ featured as a track of the week with Thomathy Entertainment, Negative White and The Indy Review and featured prominently on sites such as Joyzine and God Is In The TV.

‘Night Shift’ is the 3rd in a series of 10 planned single releases from Martyrs over the coming
months.

Ledher Blue Release New Single ‘Craic’

Portuguese meets Irish indie duo Ledher Blue’s new single ‘Craic’ out now.

Ledher Blue’s upcoming new album ‘Fait Divers’ came from an existential crisis. Admittedly, it was shameful to accept that the most generic of internal conflicts were at hand: the “what’s the purpose of life?”s and the “why am I here?”s out of every self-help book seemed adequate, but needed to be articulated in a particular way. What was the purpose of my life until now; “Why am I here?” Zé from Ledher Blue thought as he got into Dublin.

Ledher Blue are the product of two distinctively different individuals that the waves of life comically decided to beach in a northern town of Portugal – Guimarães. The city is known for its historical meaning in the birth of Portugal, for its nasty hooligans, for its emigrant parvenus, its domestic parvenus, its humble proletariat, its shame, envy, resignation and most importantly a mystical ability of seeing the depressed times – which have long been in the region – united in empathetic jealousy, certain that better days are coming. The club keeps losing but we’ll be champions, the people are poor but we’ll get better, everything may be bad but he will rise in a foggy sunrise.

Zé and Pedro, the pair behind Ledher Blue, encapsulated the diversity of the town in an existential way. One was always happy, one was always longing, one found a girl, the other found the one, one flourished, the other stagnated when one fell in love with the bars and was now bored the other said, “don’t gamble your life for a couple of poems”, but impressively they would always converge from different perspectives to the same idea. Certainly, one loved Illiad for Aquiles and the other for Hector, one for Vronski another for Levin, one for Grey the other for Vane, one for Liam another for Noel… what matters is that instinctively – or “zoroastrianly” – the pure meaning for their message was not what each wanted to say but the product of the pressure. This conflict was in their youth the birth of friendship and in their slope the birth of the band.

That is why one can say that one song looks happy with mournful feel, or rebellious with fearful grooves; it can be satirical in lyricism and classical in structure, it tries to be a singular unitarian message independent of the peripheral chatter. It’s alternative sometimes, post punk in the others, even poppy on some choruses, but most importantly it always feels original and unique.

Zé’s move to Dublin meant a big separation for the friends and bandmates, but most importantly brought a new perspective for their old problem. The problematic youth from Guimarães, their problematic youth, was not unique to the land. It could be observed on the Irish town. The lifeless eyes, the change dribbling in an oversized pocket, the fortuity misfortune, the keys in the bathroom, a generation sprayed with anxiety and embalmed in panic. It was paralysing. The song forcefully quieted on the lips of a dead philosopher was slivering to the bones of our time. It was as if everybody – even unconsciously – believed that regret was the only certainty of existence; that unescapable longing for the unlived life. And as the uniqueness of our situation dissolved, as our small town became countries, we found new binoculars, not only to inspect reality but most importantly our own. Transcendentally, we found our true selves, which we may have seen before, but were now so overwhelmed to the point of acceptance. As theory imprisoned and pressured reality, the only answer was King Sebastian. The individual who could look down at Narcissus smugly and was able to curse an whole nation was mystified as the long awaited saviour. Sebastian may have lead Portugal to the abyss when he disappeared in the desert but with it created a myth; the myth that he would return in a foggy morning and save us all. Hope. This hope was what united our town. What united the past generations from this existential dread and what would cure our generation. Sebastianism was the cure, it was clear.

“Not only the message was so clear it seemed to dazzle but also the universe, the habitat of each song was drawn.”, says Ledher Blue. “We felt rain during ‘Dublinesque’, the popped dark smoke from old cars for ‘Sorrows of the Amended Hearts’, the lady on the bus in ‘Craic’, the winey red out of a absolutist cape emerged on ‘Èlan’ with libertarian scarlet blues and shadowy greens, we heard the people talking in the pubs of ‘Fun’, we could distinguish the whiteness of their teeth; it stopped being a group of songs and became something else. Complete. Portugality embroiled in Irish thread. A message for all but about none, a concept for the unknown based on the past, a tale without morals.”

New single ‘Craic’ is the final track on the album and is a breezy infectious indie-rock earworm that sounds like The Strokes put through a psychedelic kaleidoscope of trippy synth goodness. The track explodes with an epic euphoric chanted chorus that is sure to light up radio playlists with its catchy anthemic qualities, proving the complimentary nature of the duo’s backgrounds and influences to be a perfect success.

‘Craic’ is out now, ‘Fait Divers’ is released 8th April.

Fauna Twin Release New Single ‘Mother’

Fauna Twin are Parisian singer Claire Jacquemard and Welsh guitarist/producer Owain Ginsberg (Hippies Vs. Ghosts and We Are Animal).

Following on from the effervescent EP The Hydra, released in 2016 (Which everyone must listen to!) Fauna Twin release their eagerly anticipated new single ‘Mother’ accompanied by a mesmerising music video. A remarkable comeback.

A very appropriately timed release with it being the month of Mothers Day. For Fauna Twin this song is dedicated to “Mothers” and “An ode to birth even in reverse”. The vocals are effortless and hypnotic, the beat thrumming and building throughout is trance-inducing, a source of comfort like a heartbeat.

Claire says of the track:  “I’m so happy to share with you that tune, which I wrote religiously like a psalm, an ode to love and its density.
Dedicated to my Mothers, to all the ramifications and the roots.
This song was a monochord challenge, as its structure is unusual. The arrangements and layering process were rooting into a true thinking and positive artistic pressure.

The video is edited by the great Bec MC Jagger who had been a true ally during the visual fulfilment.”

Stone Angels Release New Single ‘Gambler’

Hard-grunge rockers Stone Angels are excited to release their thrill-seeking, in-your-face new single ‘Gambler’ from their highly acclaimed new album ‘Up In Smoke’ which is available now on CD and vinyl direct from the band. Frontman/guitarist Niall Kersey reveals the inspiration of the song “I already had the main opening guitar riff sitting around a while, and during a full band writing session everything else just seemed to fall into place. Taking inspiration from our drummer, who is a professional gambler, the lyrics are about how life really is one big gambling game and the stakes are high!

With the new album armed to the teeth with a flurry of sledgehammer riffs, colossal choruses and unabashed wailing solos, and in a departure from the norm, the collection of 9 hard-hitting songs will be released digitally track-by-track. Buying the album direct from the band is the way to hear the album in its entirety as intended with Classic Rock magazine calling it “bone crunching, heavy rock goodness” and featured previous single ‘Ghost Of New York’ as one of their Tracks of The Week along with Powerplay Magazine being “really impressed by this album, 8/10.

On the decision to release the album in physical form only for now, they explain, “In order for an artist to really have a chance to grow on streaming platforms they need to have a steady flow of new music to drip feed over several months to help maintain and grow audience engagement. On any given day around 120,000 songs are uploaded to Spotify, so within a month over 3 million songs have been released which means your music can become “old” in an instant.”

Swooping in from the vibrant cornucopia of the ever-expanding music scene in Brighton UK, the soaring 4 piece of Niall Kersey (vocals/guitar), James Innes (lead guitar), Sam Sayers (bass) and Loz Ford (drums) worked with multi-platinum award-winning producer Mike Krompass (Steven Tyler, Everybody Loves An Outlaw, Smash Mouth), recording at his state-of-the-art studio Base Culture with mastering duties expertly handled by Tim Turan (Black Sabbath, Guns N’ Roses, Pearl Jam).

Having shared stages with Kris Barras Band, Skindred, Hot Milk and Ricky Warwick the band pull inspiration from classic LA rock, Seattle’s iconic grunge and historic UK rock scenes and have been likened to such household names as Queens of The Stone Age and Soundgarden. 2024 saw them play festivals in Station 18 Swansea, Pride Rock Festival in their hometown and the final Monsterfest in Scotland to rave reviews, this year brings their first European festival appearance at Summerside in Switzerland alongside Airbourne, Billy Idol and Royal Republic…it’s a safe bet that a flightful future is upon Stone Angels.

Garlen Lo Releases New Single ‘London Girls’

London Girls is the ninth single from the quirky indie-popster from London.

Garlen Lo is a born-and-bred Londoner of Hong Kong-Chinese origin. Aged 7 he was raised by a wine-guzzling auntie who played country music at max volume. One Christmas, he got a guitar and took naturally to writing drunken singalongs with twee wordplay.

He formed an unruly, skinny-jeaned indie band in the mid-2000s, but after that imploded, tried to become a respectable member of society. Not quite succeeding at that either, he resumed his love for songwriting during the pandemic. The result is this.

He is a one-man band: playing all the instruments, singing, producing, and making the music videos. Songs about lost love seems to be his thing. His latest single ‘London Girls’ is basically The Beach Boy’s ‘California Girls’… but London!

Garlen Lo says of the song: “Seemingly a romantic number, it’s actually written about a friend who I met abroad, a fellow Londoner. From Leyton to be precise. EastEnders accent included. It might be my wittiest song with mentions of Ruby Murray, pull my finger, and Bruce Forsyth. Can you think of any other song that includes the word ‘fart’ or features a TV catchphrase?”

‘London Girls’ is out now, along with a fun music video!

Emily Saunders Releases New Album ‘Moon Shifts Oceans’

Critically acclaimed vocalist, songwriter, and producer, Emily Saunders is set to release ‘Moon Shifts Oceans’ — her upbeat, soul-infused album that blends smoky vocals with jazz-fusion and folk-pop sensuality. Saunders crafts a deeply personal and emotional soundscape, evoking magical nights filled with warmth, connection, and freedom. Her songs inspire hope and healing, embodying a belief in music’s power to uplift and transform. Her musical influences push boundaries to make music that pops. Think Brazilian and broken beats meet Goldfrapp with echoes of Erykah Badu and India Arie.

The album focus single, is the vibrant, joy-infused ‘Sideways’, which promises to be an anthem of Spring, beckoning listeners to embrace life’s twists and turns with a spirit of joy and resilience.

‘Sideways’ delivers a powerful message of finding light and love amidst life’s darkest moments. With multi-layered vocals and poetic lyrics dancing over bubbly riffs and driving grooves, the track is an irresistible call to happiness, light and life. At the core of the track is Emily’s soaring, enchanting voice, which playfully dances over her infectious tunes and bold music-production in such a way to effortlessly weave their way into the listener’s soul.

Reflecting on the track, Emily Saunders shared; “Sideways is just about tripping through life; that some things can knock us over, and some things lift us up, and how friendships and love can help us see sunshine even on the cloudiest of days. This song is a celebration of how connections and love illuminate our path and cushion the falls with a comforting warmth. ‘How we walk through our days, grey clouds shine with sunny golden linings, clouds blow by as the sun lights the sky, warm love on a dark day.’”

Born in Charing Cross, Saunders grew up in Brixton, South London, in a highly musical family, singing from the age of four. But navigating challenging family dynamics in her teens, she sought shelter and support at a local hostel, where she lived for three years from age 16. “These difficult years spurred me on creatively, and music became my safe space, where I transformed the adversity from teenage chaos to a deeper understanding of the impact of sound on those turbulent times. This has been my driving force ever since”, she explains.

Saunders had to dig deep when diagnosed with acute psoriatic arthritis in 2017, leaving her semi-paralyzed, unable to walk, and isolated at home. “It would be easy to ask why me? Why now? But it’s empowering to be free even when everything around you feels like it’s closing in,” says Saunders, who recovered and pushed through the trauma of her disabling injuries to forge an even deeper sound and a determination to self-engineer and fully immerse herself in her music with the freedom to create with no restraints. “Focusing on the creative force within can transform each and every one of us. The trick is to keep believing, keep creating, and keep sharing”, she says.

Her new album ‘Moon Shifts Oceans’ is a creation of beauty, strength, and soul. Saunders is at her best, her voice is rich and magnetic, wrapping around melodies with effortless grace and artistry, offering an intimate journey through her world of deep feeling and dynamic sounds. The album conjures the perfect night — the air is warm and sultry, your friends are by your side, and the evening has just begun. Think honey vibes and breathless pop sexiness. With the album, Saunders masterfully balances depth and joy, offering a soul-soothing escape filled with groove, melody, and heart. Expect catchy songs, infectious grooves, and vibrant rhythms. After her critically acclaimed debut album, her follow-up, ‘Outsiders Insiders’, was described by BBC Radio 2’s Jamie Cullum as “absolutely brilliant,” showcasing her artistry with unique compositions praised for their originality. Kathmandu Releases Debut Single ‘Different Life’

Kathmandu is an alternative four-piece band led by songwriter and lyricist Donna Marie. Their catchy, dreamy songs thrive on the tension between light and dark, exploring the spaces where the two meet.
Drawing from the vast realms of alternative music, the band blends introspective reflection with the playfulness of indie pop. Yet, at their most ambitious, their songs will draw you in, leading the way to climaxes of a cinematic grandeur. Kathmandu is perhaps best compared to incense smoke. Hazy, but uplifting with an intense melancholy air that lingers.

Donna Marie says of the song:

“This song lyrically focuses on my desire for change and the feeling of being stuck in my (then-current) situation. It’s an introspective track about wanting to ‘escape’ and create a fresh start for myself, while seeking space for my own needs and passions. Interestingly, the song’s bright, summery vibe contrasts
with the underlying emotions. However, these emotions aren’t necessarily negative—they were more of a wake-up call for me. The message I want to convey with this song is that it’s never too late to start over. But you have to initiate it yourself, because no one else will do it for you.”

Different Life is out now and is to be followed by three more singles and an EP!

Kety Fusco Releases New Single ‘Blow’

With her second studio album, ‘BOHČME’, Kety Fusco transforms the harp into an entirely new voice, redefining what this instrument can represent in the contemporary music landscape. This is not just music: it’s a vision. It’s an invitation to explore a sound world that has never existed before.

Every sound in ‘BOHČME’, which follows acclaim for Kety’s music from BBC 6 Music, The Guardian, Wonderland and more in the UK, originates from the harp, yet nothing is as it seems. Sound manipulations, underwater recordings, and unconventional techniques create a unique musical language, far from traditional boundaries. Among the boldest experiments, Kety literally submerged herself in a pool to record the sounds of the harp underwater, turning the instrument into a medium for narrating the unexpected. This daring approach shines in the opening track, ‘Hi, this is Harp’, a manifesto of sonic avant-garde.

Discovering the harp at just 6 years old, Kety Fusco’s magnetic talent has now taken her to iconic stages such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Swiss Federal Parliament, and the prestigious Euro Jazz Festival in Mexico. With over 200 concerts worldwide, Kety has redefined the role of the harp, bringing it to the most unexpected contexts: from the Notte della Taranta to the United Nations, and even on a tour of South America for the Swiss Embassies.

An unstoppable composer and creator, Kety has written soundtracks for a film and a documentary set to be released in 2025, as well as composed the theme music for the Rai Radio3 program Voci in Barcaccia. Her original works are a manifesto of artistic freedom, captivating audiences with their fusion of tradition and avant-garde. Her musical journey is authentic and uncompromising, reflecting a deeply personal artistic vision.

In 2024, she served as the Swiss juror for the Eurovision Song Contest, adding another milestone to her path of international excellence. The year 2025 promises to be a year of great achievements: in June, ‘BOHČME’ will be released, featuring a collaboration with the legendary Iggy Pop, solidifying Kety Fusco as a revolutionary figure in the global music scene.

‘BLOW’ is the first breath of freedom from ‘BOHEĚME’. It’s the gust that tousles your hair, shakes the rules, and reminds us who we are when we let go of our masks. This track was born from the desire to shed the weight of expectations, to dive into a wind that carries everything away, leaving only the essential.

With ‘BLOW’, the harp becomes so much more than a traditional instrument: it’s a bridge between the past and the future, between its classical roots and an entirely new dimension. It’s as if the harp, with its millennial history, found the courage to break its own chains and be reborn with a new voice.

“I sought to transform it into something wild and untamed, capable of expressing emotions that transcend tradition, projecting it toward a bolder, unknown future”, says Kety.

This track is not just a song; it’s a feeling: the wind slipping through your fingers, the heartbeat rising in your chest, the burst of light that marks the beginning of something new. ‘BLOW’ is an invitation to challenge boundaries, to leave the past behind without denying it, and to turn it into a force that drives us toward freedom.

Worldcub Release New Single ‘Exploding’

‘Exploding!’ is powered by a stomping rhythm, its fuzzy guitars, proggy synth splashes, snappy melodies and ticking cowbells make it a refreshing response to the rising tide of negative news and doom scrolling. Dion from the group commented: “The track was inspired by a rehearsal we had, Cynyr explored a few riffs with a more fuzzy sound. The lyrics flowed from what was on the news that night, on the TV and on social media especially, the relentless tension that comes from having all of that in your pocket all the time and how some people can eventually become desensitised to it, which inspired the paradoxical nature of the track.”

Taking influence from 70s/80s Paul McCartney and DIY ‘Fantastic Man’ William Onyeabor, Worldcub produce material from their home studio on the hills of Eryri, splicing together elements of surf music, kraut-rock grooves and hypnotic psych-tinged Cymru vocal harmonies.

Brothers Cynyr and Dion Hamer founded the band under the name ‘CaStLeS’ before releasing their debut album, ‘Fforesteering’, which gained coverage on major platforms such as The Guardian and UNCUT Magazine. With help from Calvin Thomas on bass and Jasmine Roberts on guitar, the band released their follow-up album, ‘Back To The Beginning’ in 2024, its singles ‘Grog’, ‘One Small Mistake’ and title track ‘Back To The Beginning’ kept a steady presence on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio Wales.

Worldcub also gained momentum live, with notable performances on stages such as the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds Festival, Liverpool Sound City, Liverpool Psych Fest, BreakOut West in Canada and main support to Public Service Broadcasting at FOCUS Wales.

Payola Release New Single ‘Pulse Jet Man’

London/ Essex based band Payola formed at the start of 2024, in The Argyll Arms pub just off of Oxford street with Dave Farley (Lead Vocals), Scott Forsyth (Lead Guitar), Matt Peel (Bass Guitar), Robbie Capel (Rhythm Guitar) and Craig Edmonds (Drums). They were drawn together and united through their shared love and passion for 60’s rock n’ roll, soul, 70’s punk, 90’s indie & Britpop music.

The band spent the best part of 2024 locking themselves away to furiously write and perfect their sound, with the single vision goal of releasing high-quality music coupled with a heightened desire to bring something fresh and exciting to the British guitar new music scene.

Putting their money where their mouth is, Payola more than proved their point with their first two releases. Their debut single, Born Out Of Frustration was released in August 2024, and is a song  that is full of swagger, driven by pounding bass lines and stunning guitar hooks.

The follow- up single, The Way It All Begins, once again is a full throttle, high octane belter full of hook laden guitar riffs and infectious rhythms.

Payola are now back with the hattrick in terms of single releases with ‘Pulse Jet  Man’

‘Pulse Jet Man’ from the very start is full of thrashing, pounding drums and distorted, fuzzing, snarling guitars. It’s a frenzy of electrifying sound that doesn’t let up throughout. There’s a certain urgency contained in the melody, the chorus hooks are anthemic and just as unrelenting. It’s a raw and powerful track befitting of a true rock and roll band.

Payola have said of the track:

“The idea behind Pulse Jet Man is that it is the persona you take on when you want to be something that you don’t think you can be.  It’s the person you want to see looking back in the mirror, not what the actual reflection portrays.

Be that a hero, a thief, a heartbreaker or an astronaut. Everyone has a bit of pulse jet in them. C’mon, c’mon.”

‘Pulse Jet Man’ was written and composed by Robbie, Craig, Scott, Matt with Craig and Dave adding in the lyrics. It was Recorded at Crunch Studios, Carshalton, Surrey and was Produced and Mixed by Alan Charles.

Billy Hunt And The Modern Classix Release New Single ‘California Callin’

Billy Hunt grew up immersed in a rich tapestry of music, drawing inspiration from artists like Jeff Buckley, Neil Young, and Paolo Nutini. This diverse influence has shaped his distinct sound—a fusion of raw indie energy, soulful storytelling, and poetic introspection.

Hunt’s velvety, resonant vocals carry the weight of experience to them, transporting listeners to a space of vulnerability and authenticity.

His immersive live performances blur the lines between artist and audience, creating a powerful sense of unity.

Previously signed to Good Deeds Music, Hunt released his first single “Intoxicate”, which gained him international airplay and led to an interview on BBC News.

He later released “No Occupation” in 2023 via Thru Tone Records (UK) and Gentlemen Recordings (Benelux), which reached #2 on Australia’s Banks Radio Chart.

Billy Hunt has steadily built his presence in the UK music scene, supporting the likes of The Gulps and touring with Cosmo Pyke.

He has performed extensively across London and the North of England, played at several festivals, and made notable appearances in Liverpool at The Cavern Club as well as in Sheffield.

Hunt’s contributions to the  music scene were recognized in local press, and he was named one of Suffolk’s best up-and-coming musicians by the East Anglian Daily Times. He was also an NMG Award nominee.

Now, Billy Hunt & The Modern Classix are back with a fresh twist—“California Callin’”, a cinematic indie-rock anthem drenched in sun-soaked nostalgia and West Coast mystique.

The new single emanates a brighter vibe laid over underlying darker brooding lyrics. California Callin’ references the dangers of losing yourself in the facade of being a musician and pays homage to Jim Morrison – one of Hunt’s favourite artists – with the initial lyric that inspired the song “Don’t you know they all go to Paris to die?”

Overall, California Calling shows a deeper side to Hunt’s songwriting ability with a broader stylistic approach, touching on subjects such as love, loss and the death of the ego. With its bold, infectious energy, the track is poised to be a modern summer classic.

Deeply connected to his roots, yet always pushing boundaries, Billy Hunt continues to captivate audiences with his authenticity, passion, and ultimate talent.

California Callin’ was recorded at Wilde Bloom Studios and was produced and mixed by Steve Maclachlan.

Frankie Dobson Releases New Single ‘Candy’

Hailing from Bishop Auckalnd, a small market town in County Durham Frankie Dobson quite simply burst onto the music scene when he played his first debut solo gig at none other than the Isle Of Wight Festival in front of a packed crowd!

Starting his game off extremely strong like that has meant that Frankie has gone onto perform at a string of sold out dates sharing lineups with big name acts such as Sundara Karma and Vistas.

Frankie is no stranger to the music industry however having been a session musician and co-songwriter for other bands and artists such as Andrew Cushin as well as performing with artists such as The Clause, Billy Sullivan, Trampolene, Shambolics and The View and at various festivals in former bands he’s fronted.

With Influences ranging across a wide spectrum from retro indie melodies to hard hitting punk, the song writing capabilities of Frankie Dobson are evident through his music. Couple this with his high octane live performances, and you’ve got yourself a winning combination.

Frankie Dobson is now breaking out and breaking the mould of what has gone before however, with his debut single release ‘Candy’.

‘Candy’ came into existence two years ago when he went to join Kyle Falconer at his songwriting camp La Sierra Casa in Spain.

At the time Frankie was going through a massive writing block and went to Kyle for advice and Kyle told him “Frankie Man, stop messing aboot tryna get a tan. You just need to write some tunes. You’re from the North East man, just make it pure and North East and Mental Man”

So armed with that little nugget of wisdom, Frankie diligently took that advice and thought about the music he loves from the North East. Being particularly taken with the guitar chords featured in songs by The Futureheads, Frankie took this and imagined them being played in a power pop vibe by Paul Weller. He said that in his head he envisioned Paul Weller playing the track live at the 100 Club standing on his own hitting those chords as hard as he could and that’s how the intro to ‘Candy’ was formed.

Once home from Spain, Frankie went back and revisited the song and it just hit him and the whole song thereafter just flowed and came to him in about 2 minutes.

From start to finish ‘Candy’ is full throttle breathing life and excitement into the room. Lyrically Frankie says the song is about being in a relationship where you’re on the losing side of every argument, but for some reason, you’re always the one begging to stay.

‘Candy’ was recorded at Kempston Street Studios in Liverpool with Chris Taylor who at the time had just finished recording the Miles Kane album ‘One Man Band’.

Chas Leman Releases New Single ‘Situation Normal’

Chas Leman is the London based singer/songwriter who performs nostalgia driven pop songs, which are bound together with tales and observations from his proud working class London upbringing.

His sudden emergence in the summer of 2024 caught the ears and eyes of the indie media and playlist curators across streaming platforms, with his Noel Gallagher meets Kinks meets Fleet Foxes debut single ‘I Found Love’.

Chas’ second single ‘The Last Boys To Be Picked At Football’ is a poignant, charming reminder of the strength in companionship and unity, with a classic indie rock musical backdrop, with a chunky early Arctic Monkeys esque guitar riff and raspy, Carl Barat style vocals.

Chas then explored his love of psychedelia with third single ‘Oh So Lonely’, a heartbreak song that continued Chas’ love for 90s indie, with strong apparent influences by Jarvis Cocker and Damon Albar,in his vocal delivery.

2024 was wrapped up for Chas with his biggest production yet. ‘Smoking Again’ which employed the services of a live string quartet, and showed the depth and maturity in Chas’ melodies and chord progressions.

Chas Leman has a musical lineage that stretches back to the Vaudevillian days of the Victorian music halls, the influence of which shines through strongly in his theatrical live performances.

At the forefront of Chas’ musical philosophy is to give escapism and pure entertainment to the listener.

The generations of musical performers in his life have led him to the part punk, part Crooner, part baroque pop Psychedelian that we see today.

Chas’ latest offering is the intricate fable of life’s everyday struggles; ‘Situation Normal’

The complexities in the instrumentations are beautifully off-set with Chas’ emotive vocals that although tender in delivery cut through with crystal clear precision really adding to the emphasis of the relatable lyricism to lines such as  “landlords upped the rent again  and I’m out of work, money’s always spent again before its earned and the bees make honey to survive, while we make money for those who’ve never cried or been inside the Situation normal, situation normal, situation normal….”

‘Situation Normal’ is all too familiar for so many who are just trying to survive the everyday  all wrapped up in a stunningly beautiful melody in which to lose yourself for a while.

Chas has said of the track:-

“I was watching TV with my kids, one of their cbeebies programmes or whatever , and it had a robot on it who kept saying ‘Situation Normal’ in that TV robot voice we all know… And I thought it was such a good hook and so decided to make a song from it. The Situation Normal is the pain and the drudgery that most of us have to go through just in order to survive. So a nice cheerful song, this time!”

‘Situation Normal’ features Chas on guitars and vocals, Craig on drums and vocals, Alan on guitars and vocals and Neil on bass and vocals.

The track is being released on Chas’ own record label Pilchard Sounds and it was recorded at South London Studio by A Charles who used to be in a pop punk band called Bellevue Days.

Straight off the bat and with no preamble, Twin City quite simply put, are one of the UK’s most exciting Indie Rock ’n’ Roll bands on the music scene right now.

Based in Bristol and consisting of Welsh brothers Louis (Vocals/Guitar) and Toby Ellis (Drums), Conor Feeney (Bass), Pete Refson (Rhythm Guitar) and James Wilson (Lead Guitar). Twin City were formed in 2021 and wasted no time in releasing their debut single ‘Shake The Walls’ (August 2021) with an accompanying music video which gained instant traction receiving over 10k views on YouTube in its first week of release along with multiple airplays on BBC Radio and Amazing Radio UK & US.

The band’s second single ‘Looking Glass’ was released in May 2022 and was quickly picked as BBC Uploader’s ‘Big New Sound’ receiving a full week of prime time airplay on BBC radio.

2022 further saw Twin City release their self titled debut EP which contained 4 tracks including the previously mentioned single ‘Looking Glass’ plus 3 other tracks which further sought to build excitement amongst industry peers and fans alike.

Other notable timeline events include Twin City’s debut gig selling out in under 24 hours forcing a venue upgrade which also sold out 24 hours later and the band’s second ever gig being as main support to The Lathums in front of a 1000 strong sold out crowd at Bristol’s Trinity Centre.

Last year saw the band release their single – ‘I Feel Alive’ which caught the attention of industry peer and  leading figurehead, Rodney Bingehemier on Sirius XM in America.

Twin City followed this up with the single ‘Simple Melody’ at the end of last year which was championed by new music tastemakers This Feeling and John Kennedy on his Radio X radio show.

The band are now back with their first offering of 2025, the prophetically titled ‘I Saw God’.

Despite the name, we are told that the track doesn’t actually have any religious meaning behind it, but rather a more comical one.

The band explain:- “Despite the title, this track has absolutely nothing to do with religion. Our guitarist Pete slipped and fell down some stairs in a pub in Bristol called The Crown, and he winded himself so badly that he reckoned he saw God. We all found it hilarious, so we wrote a song about it.”

Musically the track is sonically charged with strumming electric guitars and a tight rhythm section on the drums keeping the pace moving along effortlessly throughout into those punchy, infectious chorus hooks and epic guitar solos. The chanting verses in the outro of “you’re living to the day you die, yeah I saw God – yeah come on and live it to the day you die i yeah I saw God” is a rousing anthem that suits the overall feel good vibe of the song with a meaningful message to live life to the fullest as life is too short.

‘I Saw God’ was written and composed collaboratively by Twin City and was recorded at Orchard Studios in Bristol and was Mixed & Mastered by Joe Marsh. The track is released on Bubblebrain Records.

With a string of sold out shows, festival appearances (including two separate stages at Isle Of Wight Festival 2024), and high profile support slots, including shows with The View, Twin Atlantic, The Royston Club, The K’s, The Coral, Bilk, The Lightning Seeds, Sea Power, Gallus and many more, Twin City are definitely a band worth keeping on your radar.

The band are due to play their biggest ever headline show to date with This Feeling at the Bristol Beacon on 4th April 2025. Tickets are on sale now.

Sister Envy return with their fantastic third new single ‘Swallowed By The Ground’, their most immediate song yet.

‘Swallowed By The Ground
’ is an awe-inspiring rocketship of soaring space rock, replete with nimble chiming guitars, underpinned by nagging basslines and cycling drums, leading the charge is an unmissable vocal from frontman Kameron Jolliffe, introspective lyrics uncover a relationship falling apart, exploding into an unforgettable chorus, combining elements of the epic gaze sound of early Verve or My Vitriol with echoes of the sound of bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana,  Sister Envy are carving their own distinct place in our hearts.

It’s Sister Envy’s third single and the follow-up to ‘Tide’ and debut release ‘Mourning Sickness’ both have been very well received, gaining the attention of publications like Louder than War, So Young Magazine, and God Is In The TV and many more, winning airplay and the approval of John Kennedy on Radio X after an acclaimed debut set at Focus Wales festival last year and playlisted on BBC Radio Wales Welsh Mix.

Kameron Jolliffe says: “I had the main riff lying around for a while, and didn’t really touch it, though I really liked it. We started jamming it in a rehearsal and the song pretty much wrote itself, it quickly became one of our favourite songs to play together.”

Sister Envy hail from the North Wales coast, a place of mystery, harshness, and beauty, a place where opportunity is blocked for younger people yet dreams can break through. Ok Go Release Two New Singles ‘A Good, Good Day At Last’ and ‘Going Home’

GRAMMY-Award-winning rock band OK Go have announced their long awaited fifth studio album And the Adjacent Possible will arrive on April 11. The 12-track collection is available to pre-order and pre-save beginning today HERE. Along with the announcement, the band has unveiled two new tracks off the album, and — in a first for the band —  released animated lyric videos by celebrated designers.  Listen to “A Good, Good Day at Last,” which features guest vocals from Ben Harper, Shalyah Fearing, and BEGINNERS, HERE, and watch TRÜF Creative’s surreal animation for it HERE. Listen to “Going Home” HERE and watch Karan Singh’s meditative lyric video for it HERE.

I couldn’t be more happy with these songs,” shares OK Go frontman, Damian Kulash. “It feels almost like a summary of the many phases we’ve gone through — the bands we’ve been.  As a whole, it’s a live-r, more band-sounding record than our last, but the overall feeling is that it’s just us, comfortable in our skin at this point. I guess that comes from feeling like, ‘we don’t have to plant a flag—our flag is planted.’

OK Go’s last record, Hungry Ghosts, saw the band tour for over five years around the world and release five of their eye-popping, mind-bending videos. Because of outside projects (Kulash co-directed his first feature film The Beanie Bubble for Apple TV+), life changes (kids!), a global pandemic, and even a TED TalkAnd the Adjacent Possible will arrive as OK Go’s first studio album in over a decade. Reflecting on nearly 30 years of collaboration, while continuing to look forward, the band has emerged with its most diverse and accomplished collection of songs to date.

Sohodolls Release New Single ‘My Religion’

Sohodolls are back with a bang for 2025 with their infectious new banger ‘My Religion’. The track is about a journey through obsession. It’s an indulgent pop song unashamedly inspired by brazen noughties pop like Eminem, Britney Spears and even Ginuwine. However, anything ‘pop’ going through the Sohodolls mincer machine will always come out darker with unhinged synths, especially when it’s produced by Grammy-nominated Dimitri Tikovoi (Charli XCX, Black Honey, Becky Hill) who also produced Sohodolls’ third biggest track ‘Mayday’.

On the high-energy track, Sohodolls’ Maya von Doll says, “I had been intrigued by the almost comedic arrogance of some 90s & noughties pop and RnB songs. I thought it might be fun to try to sing like I was a player. So ‘My Religion’ is as bold as I can get, and it was super fun trying it. I made sure I kept my British accent in the rap section though it was hard as I had always sung along to American rap.”

‘My Religion’ continues an exciting new era for Sohodolls, juxtaposing catchy pop tendencies with the band’s trademark seductive electronic darkness, as they limber up to launch their long-awaited new album this year. The potent track is a brand-new alt-pop anthem for 2025 that invites listeners to convert to the Sohodolls cult; a movement that celebrates the misfits and those who don’t conform to societal norms. The power of this loyal fanbase so far has helped the band recently climb up the viral Billboard charts after Madonna’s daughter kickstarted interest in the band by dancing to one of their 00’s releases on TikTok.

With ‘My Religion’, we again see Sohodolls combining top quality production, stunning songwriting and an effortlessly cool delivery for maximum earworm power. It’s the type of work, dripping in graphic melodrama, that has seen Sohodolls recently featured in Netflix’s top 10 series ‘Geek Girl’ with their song ‘Bad’, plus a slew of new press and radio love from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Nels Hylton, Absolute Radio’s Frank Skinner and Atwood Magazine to name a few.

The 355’s Release New Single ‘Always You’

Brought together by a mutual love for 90’s guitar driven bangers and Northern Soul grooves, The 355’s comprising of Adam Thompsett on Vocals and Guitars, Craig Lockwood on Vocals, Guitars &  Keyboards, Robert ‘Bert’ Hammond on Bass & Vocals and Mike Fitchie on Drums, the band was first formed in 2023 when they independently released their debut EP; ‘Jig A Jig Out’ which shot straight to number 11 on the official U.K single charts.

Noel Gallagher reviewed 2 of the singles from the ‘Jig A Jig Out’ E.P on the Matt Morgan podcast, stating, ‘I bet they are f*cking great live’.

Having worked with producer Nick Brine (Oasis, The Stone Roses, Ash) on the first E.P, the lads returned to the studio with Nick in August 2024 for the second E.P from which the first single ‘Stuck In The Riverbed’ was released in November 2024 and which was very well received having gained worldwide radio plays and nearly 19k streams on Spotify alone.

The band are now back with their follow-up single, the reflective and poignant love song  ‘Always You’.

‘Always You’ which starts off with its gentle and melodic strumming guitars is a reflective ode to a loved one with lyrics like “Its you, It’s always you, so I guess I’ll stay, I guess I’ll stay” perhaps tells the tale of love and all that can happen, the ups and the downs, but how together you’ll stay together through thick and thin because the love is undeniable.

Musically, the track picks up somewhat in the chorus hooks with a tender smattering of drums and a mellow lead guitar riff all adding to the overall serene and tranquil ambience of the track as a whole.

The track was written by Bert Hammond (lyrics) and Adam Thompsett (Music). It was Recorded at Leeders Vale studio in South Wales with legendary britpop producer Nick Brine (Oasis, Stone Roses, Ash.)  and was Mastered by Pete Maher (Coldplay, Liam Gallagher, Rolling Stones).

Blue Foundation Release New Single ‘A Dreamer’s Dream’

New Blue Foundation song ‘A Dreamer’s Dream’ captures the connection with someone who shines like a star, burning brightly and wildly, filled with raw emotion and energy. Some people just glow—eyes deep and bright, their souls ancient. It’s a bond that feels like a past life, stronger than anything you’ve known. If you’re lucky, you’ll meet someone like that when you least expect it, and it can change everything.

Love is a wild force, tearing through silence like a train at night. The dreamer sees a figure with eyes that shine like stars, a fire that burns higher despite the rain, pulling the dreamer’s soul into the flames. The sky holds a star, burning brighter than the sun.

Recorded in Copenhagen, ‘A Dreamer’s Dream’ captures the feeling of a wild wind—a force—and the raw energy of playing together in a room, not just layering tracks. The song was written and recorded in the summer of 2024 in Nørrebro and with it the band announce the release of their brand new album ‘Close to the Knife’ for release on 18th April via KON Records.

The musical style of ‘A Dreamer’s Dream’ blends shoegaze, dream pop, and psychedelia, enhancing the raw energy of true love. Federico Ughi’s drums hit like a train breaking the silence at night—powerful, relentless, and driving the song with intense urgency and in contrast to the track’s reverb-drenched guitars and ethereal soundscapes. Helena Gao provides haunting backing vocals.

Founded in 2000 by Danish singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Tobias Wilner, the group was inspired by Mark E. Smith’s method of forming a band (The Fall), with Wilner recruiting a rotating lineup of traditional musicians over the years to fuel creativity. Since 2010, the core members of the band have been Tobias Wilner and Bo Rande, working between Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Blue Foundation is renowned for their distinctive fusion of electronic music and dream pop. Drawing inspiration from the ethereal nature of dream pop and a moody, introspective atmosphere, the band creates immersive soundscapes characterized by emotive vocals and intricate production. Their music often evokes a sense of melancholy and reflection, resonating with listeners who appreciate ambient, emotive melodies and introspective themes.

The band has released several well-received albums, including “Life of a Ghost”, “In My Mind I Am Free” and “Blood Moon”. These albums showcase their signature style and have cemented their reputation in the indie music scene. They have collaborated with a range of artists and producers, enriching their sound and expanding their reach within the music industry. Collaborators include Jonas Bjerre (Mew), Erika Spring (Au Revoir Simone), Findlay Brown, DJ Krush, Sara Savery, and Wang Wen.

Blue Foundation’s music has been featured in various popular films, such as Michael Mann’s “Miami Vice,” and TV shows like “The Vampire Diaries.” Their song “Eyes on Fire” gained significant fame after being included in the soundtrack of the movie “Twilight.” Blue Foundation is sampled by Lil Durk featuring French Montana on his track “Fly High” and Young Thug‘s song “She Noticed.” They co-wrote the song “Taurus” for Machine Gun Kelly.

“A Dreamer’s Dream” is mixed by Tobias Wilner and mastered by Francesco Donadello.

Blue Foundation’s forthcoming album ‘Close to the Knife’ is set to be released on the 18th of April via KON Records.

The Bad Wires Release New Single ‘Wisecracks’

THE BAD WIRES are an up and coming three piece Manchester based rock and roll band who are bringing the noise with their high octane, blues infused, punky indie belters.

Made up of Danny Waterson on lead vocals and guitar, Ellis Wilson on bass and  Tim Dixon on drums, their dirty, bluesy, guitar driven tunes are reminiscent of artists such as Jack White, The Black Keys and The Stooges, while also managing to stay quintessentially British in their lyrical and vocal attack.

There’s also a cinematic edge to their music that they credit to the same sort of vibe of artists like Lana Del Rey and Arctic Monkeys.

Having spent 2024 rehearsing, perfecting and recording their sound, The Bad Wires are now delighted to unleash their debut single ‘Wisecracks’ into the world.

‘Wisecracks’ starts off as it means to go on with its straight off the bat, fuzzing, snarling guitar riffs and smattering of driving drum beats overlaid with gloriously distorted vocals giving rise to those deliciously blues infused funky base notes.

‘Wisecracks’ immediately sets The Bad Wires apart from all their contemporaries by providing us with something that is both instantly recognisable as a banging rock and roll anthem, whilst also managing to be incredibly  fresh and exciting, skipping and jumping along through genres and blending them effortlessly…. And my god those guitar solos are simply euphoric!!

I defy anyone not to fall in love with this track and indeed this band from the very first listen.

The band have said of the track:-

“With this tune we really just wanted a fuzzy, bluesy, guitar riff that just grabs you by the scruff of the neck and says “I’m here now, listen” but still has that surfy western twang, we always go for that cinematic feel in our songs and hopefully it’s there. The lyrics were inspired by listening to too much Tom Waits and doing our Mancunian take on it.”

Wisecracks’ was written by Danny Waterson and was recorded at Airtight Studios in Manchester and Produced by Seadna McPhail.

Marseille Release New Single ‘History’

Marseille enlist Wolf Alice producer for ambitious and downright ballsy indie-rock single ‘History’.

Marseille return with what is absolutely their best work to date, ‘History’. It’s heartfelt, ambitious, and in your face, it will be sure to be the focal point of any indie-rock playlist you have this year. The track has already secured airplay on BBC 6 Music’s ‘Indie Forever’ show as their ‘Indie-pendence Play’ and received praise from highly regarded music tastemakers The Line Of Best Fit as the band set to win over legions of new fans with this new tune.

Hailing from the depths of northern Derbyshire, the five-piece indie rock/shoegaze band have been making waves in the UK music scene, reviving a scene which never really died. At an average age of just 19, the group—featuring Will Brown (vocals), Joe Labram (lead guitar), Lennon Hall (guitar), Will Sabey (bass), and Tom Spray (drums) have already completed a successful UK tour, selling out 150-250 capacity venues.

Marseille have been busy laying down the foundations for an eye catching 2025 after 2 years of grafting, playing encapsulating shows and honing their sound. With the Oasis reunion this year and a new wave of Brit-pop set to sweep the country, it’s an exciting time for Marseille who carry a zero-fucks given swagger with waves of psych, groove and emotion moving through their tracks, making sure the audience never has a moment to lose interest.

‘History’ is a track that really tugs at the heartstrings, a song that is a love letter to the dreams we all had as children, being remembered as a legend of your era. But all the while having that big beat in your face swagger that Marseille naturally carries around wherever they go. A gorgeously well-crafted song which is most excellently brought to life by Wolf Alice’s producer Michael Smith.

On the track, singer Will Brown said, “History is a simple song which applies to any young person with big aspirations. It’s probably the most personal to us as a collective as we fit that criterion. We are 5 young lads that want our legacy to be remembered, and that is one of the most special things that anyone can ever write about.”

Over 2024 Marseille played some very notable shows such as the Quarry Stage at YNOT in front of 4,000 people, Isle Of Wight festival, Manchester Academy 2. They also supported The Twang at Leicester Academy and supported The Bluetones in Lancaster at the Kanteena.

The band have also received backing from clothing brand Pretty Green which is something both parties plan to build on in 2025.

‘History’ is out now via Echo Bass Records across all major streaming platforms & CD, with a 7” vinyl release to follow on 14th March.

Hand On Heart Release Debut Album ‘Space’

Space is the title of the debut album by Hand On Heart, a band formed in Montecatini Terme (PT) in 2017 and dedicated to hard rock, but far from being beginners, considering the previous and current experiences of its members.

Alessandro Moschini and Sergio Leonetti played in the 80s with G.L.A.S., authors of an EP entitled Audax Vincit, Moschini also played in H.A.R.E.M., a band led by Freddy Delirio – the keyboardist of Death SS – and in Charisma, a hard rock project with lyrics in Italian founded together with Matteo Panichi, drummer of Damn Freaks. Sergio Leonetti has also been part of the Ontario lineup for many years, a Tuscan country pop/rock band with three albums to their credit. Finally, Niccoli and Moschini are also members of the acoustic duo Coffee & Flowers, a musical reality with two albums in their curriculum. English guitarist Christian Evans, in Italy since 1998, has played in various local bands.

From Space, a work with its feet firmly planted in the hard rock that established itself between the Seventies and Eighties thanks to groups such as Van Halen, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Kiss, Whitesnake and Bon Jovi (who are thus considered among the major influences of the music branded Hand On Heart), the single Roses has already been taken. A refined taste of what you will find in this new, exciting release by Metal Zone Italia. The song won third place in the winter edition of the international World Songwriting Awards, coming in ahead of artists who have received Grammy nominations and the band has recently become a member of ISSA (International, Singer-Songwriters Association), an organization based in Atlanta, in the U.S.A. But if you really want to know what you will find listening to Space, Alessandro Moschini’s words are the best presentation:

“We grew up with the hard rock of the 80s, with the Los Angeles scene. We are sick of AOR and hard rock of that period. Our album is made from the heart and speaks that language. We are not interested in following the fashion of the moment, we only play the music we love”.

AK & The Red Kites Release New Single ‘Baby Don’t Love Me’

Modern rock band with a retro infused vibe AK & The Red Kites are pleased to release the stomping, head nodding new single and videoBaby Don’t Love Me’ taken from the debut EP ‘Proverbial Storm’, available now on CD and all digital platforms.

Frontman and guitarist Andrew Knightley says “It’s a take on the age old story of losing your lady, noticing the signs along the way but sticking your head in the sand until it’s too late. I’m sure a lot of people have been there and can relate.

Having eloped from the city life to the Chiltern Hills UK during the global pandemic, Andrew began writing songs that would shape the EP rising from the ashes of his previous blues rock band Trident Waters. “I wrote most of my new music looking out the window onto the woods and the Red Kites are always circling overhead. I wanted to honour that sense of freedom and protection that they have provided me with and the connection I felt. The band name is a direct reference to my creative process and where I am now as a person.”

The 6 track collection showcases Knightleys eclectic range as a songwriter and musician; ranging from full on high tempo hard rockers, big riffs, to panoramic swamp vibes with incursions into territories likened to the vein of Rival Sons, Ritchie Kotzen and ZZ Top; “A unique fusion of delta blues, country, and high-energy hard-edged rock.My Global Mind Magazine, “The whole thing is glorious.Maximum Volume Music. Andrew muses, “It’s 100% song driven as I’ve grown and wanted to come away from focusing on the guitar to allow myself to be more vulnerable in my writing. I’ve put a lot of who I am and where I’ve been into the songs and have laid it all on the table.”

Working with multi-platinum award-winning producer Mike Krompass (Everybody Loves An Outlaw, Steven Tyler) and recording at the previously UK based state of the art Base Culture has brought out what Andrew believes to be his best work to date “There’s a far more contemporary sound and we really focused on my vocal delivery taking precedence which I hadn’t done as much of in the past. We worked quickly and directly, aiming to make the biggest sound we could without losing sight of any song as that’s most important.” Adding to the expansiveness, mastering duties were expertly handled by Glenn Thomas of ItuneAudio (Kenny Aronoff, Billy Sheehan) and Justin Shturtz of Sterling Sound (Shinedown, 10 Years).

With the debut EP and singles offerings, AK & The Red Kites is now perched ready to soar with more music to take wings in 2025. “I want the listener to interpret for themselves. take away what they choose and enjoy, this is just the beginning.

Italian shoegaze band Mondaze has today released their second album ‘Linger‘ via Bronson Recordings.

A message on the wall reads, “We don’t want to return to normal because normal was the problem.” filled with disruptive alarms, isolating commutes, an increasingly demanding work schedule, and manufactured desires urging us to buy things we don’t need. Dull, unhealthy meals and a self-imposed detachment as we watch endless streaming content, sacrificing sleep until the brink of dawn. Then, the alarm rings again, perpetuating the cycle with heightened exhaustion and diminished concentration.

This is exactly what Mondaze touch on in their latest album ‘Linger’, a follow-up to their 2021 debut ‘Late Bloom’. “The album arose from a sense of alienation from a world devoid of contemplation,” the band explains. “A world where finding moments of stillness in everyday life has become rare’. Life has become an experience of watching from the sidelines, distracted and unaware of what’s right in front of us.

The album delves deep into themes of memory and loss, resistance and rebirth. It presents a dualism, balancing the delicate beauty of ethereal melodies with the intense power of a wall of sound. This back-and-forth builds and tears down emotional landscapes and mindscapes alike. If shoegaze stands for anything in the annals of indie music, it’s the sonic expression of a state of “uncomfortable numbness”—a form of escape from reality, hidden beneath layers of distorted guitars and distant vocals. It’s a sound that more effectively encapsulates the discomforts of ultramodern life than any statement could. While mainstream music moves towards hyper-produced pop and ever-grander spectacles, shoegaze has become the preferred voice for younger generations who feel adrift, with few points of reference.

In this context, Mondaze’s sound stands out with its originality. Their music is the result of a synthesis of various influences—from punk and hardcore to metal—forming a voice that uniquely captures the anxieties of today’s world.

Since forming in 2018, Mondaze have defined themselves as “heavy shoegaze,” taking inspiration from bands like genre-giants Swervedriver and Ride, but also contemporary bands that are pushing shoegaze through the limits like Nothing and Ringo Deathstarr. With ‘Linger’, they aim to amplify the melancholic tones of their frustration and rage. These sonic characteristics drove them to work with Chris Fullard (who’s collaborated with Idles and Boris) on mixing, and Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher) for mastering. The result is an album with roots, yet distinctly modern in its direction and sound with arrangements able to perfectly synthesize a modern approach to dreamy-eerie landscapes. Guitars in Linger are back as a centre for world-making as they foster sensations through music with refined overlaps where influences merge expressing modern sensibility.

“We often strive to act as rationally as possible, but inevitably end up feeling empty and numb,” the band reflects on the broader implications of their work, “This album is about contemplation,” they continue, “but there’s also an element of action, a kind of non-action that comes from the awareness gained through reflection.”

With ‘Linger’, Mondaze return with a sound that is as powerful as it is necessary in the times we live in. There’s a strength that stems from reflection and observation. Their music taps into the deep emotions of generations unwilling to return to the “normal” of the past.

It was written in mine and Dan’s flat one spring afternoon and fills me with sadness and hope in equal measure everytime we play it’

The track was recorded at Cube Studios in Cornwall and mixed & mastered in London by The Velvet Hands and Jamx Jules.

The Velvet Hands are Toby Mitchell, Dan Able, Louis Mitchell and John Logan. After forming amidst Cornwall’s blistering garage-rock scene, the four-piece relocated to London and have been making a name for themselves on the capital’s underground guitar circuit ever since.

The Don’t ARgue project is complete, seven songs in seven styles which have been years in the making.

Poppy Wizard Release New Single ‘Maze’

Alt-rock band POPPY WIZARD released their debut EP “Holy Spirit Gang” in August, sparking an initial echo in the shoegaze and emo scene. Now the quartet is unleashing a new single, “Maze”, which combines powerful riffs with hypnotic vocals. The result is a dense wall of sound that is broken up in places with haunting shouts.

Originally started as a two-piece creative experiment during the Corona pandemic in Düsseldorf and Cologne, Poppy Wizard has evolved into a band project driven by the shared passion of four longtime friends. Their music is a captivating mix of powerful, melodic and danceable songs that captivates the audience. Inspired by the various addictions of life, their sound oscillates between heavy, dreamy and undulating structures that will delight fans of modern fuzz rock and grungegaze.

Red Telephone Release New Single ‘Sentimental Dreaming’

As the countdown to their sophomore album Delay The New Day enters its final stretch, Cardiff multi-intrumentalists Red Telephone offer fans one last sonic appetiser with ‘Sentimental Dreaming’.

Driven by a hypnotic bassline and layered with ethereal synths, ‘Sentimental Dreaming’ comes with an interesting backstory. Born from a 15 minute acoustic guitar session intended to fix the chorus of a different song, the track became one of the first the band worked on for their new album. However, its journey to completion was far from straightforward, going through multiple iterations, including a bold foray into Robyn-inspired pop, before finding its final form in a spontaneous late-night studio session.

We started listening back to practice recordings of all the different versions we’d attempted and there was this one phone recording with this really rhythmic, catchy bassline by Dom.” lead singer Declan says of the song’s construction “We were basically recording it ten minutes later on the fly and didn’t leave the studio until about 2am. There was definitely some late-in-the-day chaos as we scrambled to get it over the line, but it added a different energy & even brought about one of Kieran’s favourite guitar parts on the album, which he put down off the cuff going into the outro almost in some jaded desperation to get it done.”  With nods to Suede and Talking Heads, and a bridge that channels Roy Orbison, ‘Sentimental Dreaming’ emerges as a serendipitous anthem for the band, capturing their eclectic influences and innovative approach to songcraft.

Delving into the album’s central theme of the trials and tribulations of modern day artists, ‘Sentimental Dreaming’ lyrically explores the chasm between the romanticised visions of creative pursuits and the often harsh realities of chasing those dreams. Of the song’s lyrics Declan says “There’s obviously this idealistic sentimentality in dreaming – it almost sounds like a sweet, harmless thing to do – but it’s deceptively powerful, because it can send us down paths that end up dictating not only behaviour but entire periods of our lives and ways of living.”

Following the success of their deliciously dark and mesmerising debut album Hollowing Out, Red Telephone’s upcoming album Delay The New Day see’s their ever evolving sound push boundaries even further. Building on their signature blend of melodic psych and darkwave, Red Telephone promise to further explore this fusion with the addition of cinematic influences to their sophomore effort. Led by the quintet’s knack for multi-instrumental intricacies, Red Telephone’s latest work evokes comparisons to MGMT, St. Vincent, or fellow Welsh icons Super Furry Animals, while staying true to the unique style they established in their critically acclaimed debut.

Thematically, the album delves into the struggles faced by countless aspiring artists: the relentless juggling act of day jobs and creative pursuits, the bombardment of conflicting advice on achieving success, and the ever-present fear of losing sight of the initial spark that ignited the passion. Delay The New Day is a tapestry of paranoia, self-doubt, and the sheer determination it takes to carve a path in the music industry. But even deeper than that, it’s about refusing to compromise on artistic vision, and embodying the underdog’s mentality to keep creating for the right reasons.

Hailing from Cardiff, Red Telephone are a quintet featuring two sets of brothers alongside their first full-time drummer. They began their journey by releasing their first two singles as a double A-side vinyl on the Welsh cult label Popty-Ping, earning praise from Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq. Their critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Hollowing Out’, garnered media attention from Clash, BBC 6 Music, and Under The Radar, amongst many. Now, in 2024, with their second album completed, Red Telephone continue to make waves in the UK alternative scene with their potent blend of psychedelic rock and darkwave.
‘Sentimental Dreaming’ is out now, whilst their upcoming album Delay The New Day is hailed for release January 31st 2025. Pre order Delay The New Day on vinyl for guaranteed entry to their exclusive album listening party on January 29th at Tiny Rebel, Cardiff.

Juanita Stein Releases New Album ‘The Weightless Hour’

Juanita Stein has released her fourth solo album ‘The Weightless Hour’ via Agricultural Audio. The Howling Bells front-woman has just finished a UK tour supporting Evan Dando and is doing a series of in-store shows including one at London’s Rough Trade West this evening, before joining Travis on their UK dates in December (full dates below).

Having recently released singles ‘Mother Natures Scorn‘ and ‘Carry Me‘, today is the turn of focus track ‘Motionless‘. Juanita explains the song “is about my inability to remain still, I have an inexplicable desire to keep moving no matter what, how or when. I’d rather have the car drive in reverse than have it sit still. I’d rather the train head in any direction, than stall on the tracks. I’m acknowledging that I hold my breath through the pain of things and rather than sit and deal with the discomfort, I’ll move in any other direction. I’m constantly learning, as I think a lot of us are, how to be motionless”.

The video, directed by Orlando Cubitt and filmed by Elliot Dupuy, was recorded along the South Coast, from Brighton to Newhaven and in between. She recalls “It was an outrageously blustery day, with gusts of winds of up to 50 mph, which made things quite challenging for us! At one point Orlando was holding Elliot up with the camera, myself, sat in a car that I could feel swaying form left to right. However, I believe this contributed to a genuine moodiness throughout the video. We did a lot of filming inside the car and at my home studio, which worked well, as that’s where I’m mostly rehearsing and creating, so a genuine insight, along with the scenery around where I live”.

’The Weightless Hour’ sees Stein join forces once more with long-time collaborator, the producer Ben Hillier (see also: Depeche Mode, Doves, Blur, Elbow). After originally teaming up for 2020’s Snapshot, Stein’s third record, which was built from collected fragments of grief following the loss of her father, it was Hillier’s penchant for minimalism – his instinct for risk-taking while stripping sounds back to their gleaming bones – that aligned with her vision for her fourth project.

In removing most instrumental additions beyond the guitar (and you will notice there are no drums on the LP), with ‘The Weightless Hour’, Stein made a subconscious choice to make the project entirely her own. In the space freed by the stripped-back instrumentation, her storytelling bleeds freely like watercolours across a blank page. The album is an intensely human document with a profound sense of dignity. A record on which Stein has found that exploring a more restrained side can yield work that is armed with experience and yet is all the lighter for it, where your attention isn’t demanded and yet is effortlessly claimed. Every sound, every choice, has earned its place.

“I think making records is a really powerful way of letting go of experiences,” Stein notes. “I’m allowing myself to kiss things goodbye.” Through these converging chapters of her life, ‘The Weightless Hour’ feels like an arrival for Juanita Stein: “I’ve finally learned to be okay in space and be loud in my experiences.
