Concrete Club Release New Single ‘Jackie Don’t Mind’

Concrete Club were formed at the end of 2022. Since this time the band have already completed a UK tour, headlined multiple raucous sold out shows and perfected their energetic, in-your-face live sound.

Concrete Club are hard to pigeonhole into a specific sound. Drawing on all walks of musical life, they like to experiment with the parameters of indie rock and pop. Moving away from the Manchester indie sound of previous years, while still tipping their cap to their influences, Concrete Club write songs that reimagine the mundanities of life, the pursuit of a better world and the joys of slumming it while chasing down a dream.

The Concrete Club hype is building quickly, with the band receiving plaudits from music giants, including Liam Gallagher, Ian Brown, Mani and Andy Dunlop. The band have released two singles so far in 2024, to a fantastic reception. They are busy working on their second EP, preceded by two more new singles. All of their new tunes are being accompanied by original and entertaining music videos. They already have an array of gigs lined up for the coming year with many more in the pipeline. Concrete Club in 2024 will be impossible to ignore, so let yourself get lost in the latest revelation in Indie Rock.

‘Jackie Don’t Mind’ is an upbeat old school indie rock song built around a catchy guitar riff. The sound is driven forward by a powerful yet bouncy rhythm section underneath lyrics that are open to interpretation.

After starting out 2024 with a Sold-Out Manchester Date off the strength of previous single ‘Riverswimmin’’ – Concrete Club have more singles, an EP and a string of further headline performances in the pipeline.

Chiefland Release New Single ‘Blame’

With two albums and three EPs released so far, CHIEFLAND is one of the figureheads of the German emo and alternative landscape. Founded in 2015, all members of the band come from different cities: Leipzig, Hamburg, Halle and Göttingen – sometimes more than four hours apart. This makes CHIEFLAND an exciting project that proves that the Band also works at a distance. The tour with ACRES (UK) through Europe in the fall of 2023 showed that CHIEFLAND are successfully going their own way despite the distance.

Since the pandemic and several member changes, CHIEFLAND have gradually moved away from the melodic hardcore of their debut “Wildflowers” (2019) and found a new niche in the mix of emo, alternative and post hardcore. The shoegaze influence in some of the more recent songs is also unmistakable. Looking at the songwriting and production, the quartet could easily pass for a US band. The impressive response to their latest single “Know That I’m Alive” (stream), which generated over 100,000 streams within just a few months – purely organically and without a label – shows that the sound resonates with overseas listeners.

CHIEFLAND have played a good 150 shows so far, some of them as support for BEING AS AN OCEAN, ACRES or HOLDING ABSENCE. The band’s biggest show to date was in front of 800 people at “Das Fest” in Karlsruhe.

“What’s it like to always be the person who has to take the blows? That one person who always gets hit really hard? ‘Blame’ is exactly about that feeling. The song is a reminder to make yourself a priority and stand up for yourself,” comments singer Christopher Hiller.

CHIEFLAND have brought Alan Day (FOUR YEAR STRONG) on board to produce the songs. The US musician put the finishing touches to the upcoming EP and contributed valuable ideas. The connection across the Atlantic is also strengthened by a feature: Christine Goodwyne from POOL KIDS, an up-and-coming emo math rock band from Florida, can be heard on the song “Bad Move”. The band also invited Jay Kucera (SKYWALKER, BITTER SEASON), a friend from the Czech Republic, as another feature guest. He enriches the track “Silent Decay” with his unmistakable vocals. CHIEFLAND are looking forward to presenting their latest work to the public in November on their biggest headlining tour to date.

Welcome to Sentiment Valley Tour 2024

Indie Revolution Single Of Week – Vivas ‘Out To Get Me’

Indie Revolutions Single Of The Week goes to Vivas with their new single ‘Out To Get Me’!

VIVAS are the Sheffield based band consisting of James Wilson on Lead vocals/rhythm guitar,  Tyler Savage on Lead guitar/backing vocals, Kane Ibbertson on Bass/backing vocals and Keaton Barker on Drums.

Although only formed in the past year, VIVAS  have already achieved so much as a band bringing a positive and highly infectious approach to their music. VIVAS are a  classic Indie Rock  band that bring the energy and attitude in abundance making for some great music and some pretty high octane live performances too!

Live performances so far have seen them play to a sold out Sheffield’s ‘Sidney & Matilda’ and ‘The Leadmill’, and they have already embarked on their first UK Tour selling out venues in cities such as Leeds, Glasgow and Manchester.

In their first year  VIVAS released an impressive total of 3 singles, being ‘Sweet Talker’ in March, ‘It’s Alright’ in July and ‘Feel’ in November. All 3 singles were received with a warm welcome from fans old and new as well as from press and radio from the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and the Sheffield Star as well as gaining the band in excess of 40k streams on Spotify alone.

Following on from this success, VIVAS decided to make a bold statement move and to try something entirely different by releasing their own re-worked version of undoubtedly one of the biggest hits in mainstream music of recent years; by covering ‘As It Was’ originally by Harry Styles.

Following up on the success of this VIVAS are now ready to release their follow up single, ‘Out To Get Me’.

‘Out To Get Me’ starts off with echoing, almost haunting opening lyrics which are quickly joined by crashing rhythmic drumming as the track picks up pace. The lyrics are poignant and feel like there’s a real story being told here. The chorus hook of “It’s really no surprise they’re out to get me” is really belted out and is followed up with blistering guitar solos, making this overall a really anthemic track.

The band have said of the new single:

“‘Out To Get Me’ is a song that is all about suffering from anxiety. It is the most lyrically driven song we have done to date as it embodies someone who feels like the whole world is watching them wherever they go, and everyone is out to get them.”

‘Out To Get Me’ was recorded by the band at West Homesick Studios in Sheffield and was Produced by Federico Telesca.

VIVAS  have already undertaken a UK Tour this year which saw them play a Sold Out  show at The Leadmill Sheffield  with The Lottery Winners and this summer will also see the band perform on The Leadmill Stage at Tramlines Festival and supporting rock legends Def Leppard and Motley Crue at The Lytham Festival

All in all 2024 promises to be a massive year for this young  band as they continue to make huge waves on the music scene.

Keys Release New Single ‘There’s No I In Teams’

Welsh legendary psych-boppers, KEYS, return with a fresh and infectious new single ‘There’s No I In Teams’, taken from their forthcoming seventh album, set for release early next year.

‘There’s No I In Teams’ combines spikey surf guitars with Rock Lobster vocals into a feverish 2minute 15 seconds of new Wave perfection. Singer, Matt Evans, explains: “The emergence of conference calls since COVID has reduced our human relationships to pixels on a screen. Avatars represent ourselves online, while we stay indoors”.

‘There’s No I In Teams’ is a song about the need to recapture our humanity in the digital age. It highlights our need for the simple joy of face to face human interaction freed from the electronic walls that now surround us. The songs uncluttered and focused arrangement is captivating and the B52’s lean and pop mean harmonies makes this a bold statement of intent for the exciting return of KEYS.

The DSM IV Release New Single ‘White Wolf’

Formed and fronted by the magical and mystical Guy McKnight of the much revered and critically acclaimed cult favourite; The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. Created in Liverpool in 2019 the band have won over audiences all over the UK and Europe with their idiosyncratic musical character getting unsuspecting audiences hyped to hysteria with their strangely seductive,noise-rock, synth-pop industrial sound that delivers nothing short of a unique musical experience. Their music is cacophonous and epic, featuring rich textures and melodic hooks that keep listeners captivated and the band have proved themselves stadium worthy in their own right, following their tours with The Sleaford Mods and The Libertines.

The band’s album ‘NEW AGE PARANOIA’ seamlessly wove together stories, beats, guitars & noise in an inspiring collection of kaleidoscopic reflections about right & wrong, dark & light, joy & pain, sin & shame – all at once sobering & yet intoxicatingly dream filled.

The latest single to be released by the band ‘White Wolf’ is a sonic soundscape set to the tones of a vintage Roland organ interjected with an echoing tick tick reverb and gentle strumming guitars before front man Guy’s emotive vocals kick forth into the mix resulting in a dreamy, hypnotic and surreal journey of sound. The accompanying music video echoes this sentiment with the genius production of metamorphosing all of the band members into animated play-doh alter ego characters of their human form. The video shows the band “performing” the track with the background of a television wall depicting cinematic visions of a ballerina dancing before the screen dies – it’s both heavenly and somewhat dark keeping the viewer gripped to conclusion.

2024 has seen THE DSM IV igniting audiences around the country with their platoon of incendiary songs – an inimitable mix of electronic beats, bona fide rock n roll guitar, & lyrical story telling by lacerating observation. Unforgiving of abuses of power. Unconditional love for life. It seems like the media seeks to desensitise us to the worst in our natures. True Crime sells. Yet liberation is attained through performance & the dynamic exchange of audience & performer. Beyond confining expectations; societal, individual or otherwise.

In summary, The DSM IV are a band who create music with a message that resonates with people who feel that a kinder world is possible. Their songs are emotive and thought-provoking whilst being thoroughly entertaining at the same time.

The Silver Lines Release New Single ‘Tame’

Showcasing some of their heaviest work to date, Birmingham Alt-Rockers The Silver Lines new single Tame’ captures the band at their most potent and intense. Taken from the band’s upcoming second EP ‘…And The Lord Don’t Think I Can Handle It’, the track offers a taste of what can be expected as well as how the quartet’s sound has progressed.

Indie Revolution Album Of The Month – The Rifles ‘Love Your Neighbour’

Indie Revolutions Album Of The Month is long awaited come back from The Rifles with ‘Love Your Neighbour’. The album is a gem, a classic.

British indie outfit the Rifles rose to popularity in the mid-2000s with a jaunty garage rock n’ roll sound that has equal parts of Jam-like swagger and a playfulness not unlike contemporaries the Kooks. First grabbing public attention with the 2005 hit “Local Boy,” the band found chart success in the latter part of the decade with their first two albums reaching number two on the U.K. indie charts and 2009’s career highlight Great Escape. Amid subsequent rock-oriented releases like 2014’s None the Wiser, the Rifles also embraced the acoustic format, releasing a pair of acoustic EPs and a 2017 unplugged album which they recorded at Abbey Road.

“Love Your Neighbour is saying we’re all in this big old mess together and it would be good to get along a bit more and enjoy it. Talk to people more, help each other out when you can, say good morning and maybe take your head away from your phone for 5 minutes and appreciate the people standing next to you. I’d like to think that the record captures life’s daily situations that we all come across, all wrapped up in 3 minute bundles that you can sing along to”. – Joel Stoker

‘Love Your Neighbour’ is out now across all streaming platforms.
