Stone Angels Release New Single ‘Gambler’

Hard-grunge rockers Stone Angels are excited to release their thrill-seeking, in-your-face new single ‘Gambler’ from their highly acclaimed new album ‘Up In Smoke’ which is available now on CD and vinyl direct from the band. Frontman/guitarist Niall Kersey reveals the inspiration of the song “I already had the main opening guitar riff sitting around a while, and during a full band writing session everything else just seemed to fall into place. Taking inspiration from our drummer, who is a professional gambler, the lyrics are about how life really is one big gambling game and the stakes are high!

With the new album armed to the teeth with a flurry of sledgehammer riffs, colossal choruses and unabashed wailing solos, and in a departure from the norm, the collection of 9 hard-hitting songs will be released digitally track-by-track. Buying the album direct from the band is the way to hear the album in its entirety as intended with Classic Rock magazine calling it “bone crunching, heavy rock goodness” and featured previous single ‘Ghost Of New York’ as one of their Tracks of The Week along with Powerplay Magazine being “really impressed by this album, 8/10.

On the decision to release the album in physical form only for now, they explain, “In order for an artist to really have a chance to grow on streaming platforms they need to have a steady flow of new music to drip feed over several months to help maintain and grow audience engagement. On any given day around 120,000 songs are uploaded to Spotify, so within a month over 3 million songs have been released which means your music can become “old” in an instant.”

Swooping in from the vibrant cornucopia of the ever-expanding music scene in Brighton UK, the soaring 4 piece of Niall Kersey (vocals/guitar), James Innes (lead guitar), Sam Sayers (bass) and Loz Ford (drums) worked with multi-platinum award-winning producer Mike Krompass (Steven Tyler, Everybody Loves An Outlaw, Smash Mouth), recording at his state-of-the-art studio Base Culture with mastering duties expertly handled by Tim Turan (Black Sabbath, Guns N’ Roses, Pearl Jam).

Having shared stages with Kris Barras Band, Skindred, Hot Milk and Ricky Warwick the band pull inspiration from classic LA rock, Seattle’s iconic grunge and historic UK rock scenes and have been likened to such household names as Queens of The Stone Age and Soundgarden. 2024 saw them play festivals in Station 18 Swansea, Pride Rock Festival in their hometown and the final Monsterfest in Scotland to rave reviews, this year brings their first European festival appearance at Summerside in Switzerland alongside Airbourne, Billy Idol and Royal Republic…it’s a safe bet that a flightful future is upon Stone Angels.

AK & The Red Kites Release New Single ‘Stronger’

Modern rock band with a retro infused vibe AK & The Red Kites are pleased to release the uplifting and hook drenched new single and video ‘Stronger’ taken from the debut EP ‘Proverbial Storm’ available now on CD and all digital platforms direct HERE.

Frontman and guitarist Andrew Knightley says of the release “It’s 100% song driven as I’ve grown and wanted to come away from focusing on the guitar to allow myself to be more vulnerable in my writing. ‘Stronger’ is an example of that about not backing down, taking whatever comes to you and dealing with it in a positive way as you’ll feel like you just won a world title by the end.

Having eloped from the city life to the Chiltern Hills UK during the global pandemic, Andrew began writing songs that would shape the EP rising from the ashes of his previous blues rock band Trident Waters. “I wrote most of my new music looking out the window onto the woods and the Red Kites are always circling overhead. I felt a connection, that they were part of my inspiration, as they glided across the sky crying and going about their business. I wanted to honour that sense of freedom and protection that they have provided me with. The band name is a direct reference to my creative process and where I am now as a person.”

The 6 track collection showcases Knightleys eclectic range as a songwriter and musician; ranging from full on high tempo hard rockers, big riffs to panoramic swamp vibes with incursions into country and delta blues rock territory in the vein of Rival Sons, Ritchie Kotzen and ZZ Top. Andrew muses, “I’ve put a lot of who I am and where I’ve been into the songs and have laid it all on the table.”

Working with multi-platinum award winning producer Mike Krompass (Everybody Loves An Outlaw, Steven Tyler) and recording at his state-of-the-art studio Base Culture has brought out what Andrew believes to be his best work to date. “There’s a far more contemporary sound to the guitars across the whole and we really focused on my vocal delivery taking precedence which I hadn’t done as much of in the past. We worked quickly and directly from the demos, layering on top aiming to make the biggest sound we could without losing sight of the song as that’s most important.” Adding to the expansiveness, mastering duties were expertly handled by Glenn Thomas of ItuneAudio (Kenny Aronoff, Billy Sheehan) and Justin Shturtz of Sterling Sound (Shinedown, 10 Years).

‘Stronger’ is out now across all streaming platforms.

AK & The Red Kites Release Debut EP ‘Proverbial Storm’

AK & The Red Kites are pleased to release the exciting, uplifting and hook drenched debut EP ‘Proverbial Storm’ available to order on CD and all digital platforms direct HERE. A modern rock band with a retro infused vibe, the band weighs in with big riffs and vast melodic soundscapes with the cornerstone of this new exciting venture in frontman/guitarist Andrew Knightley rising from the ashes of his previous blues rock band Trident Waters.

Having eloped from the city life to the Chiltern Hills UK during the global pandemic, Andrew began writing songs that would shape the EP to come. “I wrote most of my new music looking out the window onto the woods and the Red Kites are always circling overhead. I felt a connection, that they were part of my inspiration, as they glided across the sky crying and going about their business. I wanted to honour that sense of freedom and protection that they have provided me with. AK & The Red Kites is a direct reference to my creative process and where I am now as a person.” The accompanying new single ‘Wolf Moon’ (video courtesy of Very Metal Art) mirrors this vision with howling vocals, biting guitars and sweeping, searing, haunting visuals.

Opening with the previously released dark and brooding “Devil’s Stomp”, which would not be out of place on a hit dramatic TV show such as ‘Yellowstone’ or Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’, the 6 track collection showcases Knightleys eclectic range as a songwriter and musician; ranging from full on high tempo hard rockers to panoramic swamp vibes with incursions into country and delta blues rock territory in the vein of Rival Sons, Ritchie Kotzen and ZZ Top. Andrew muses, “I’ve put a lot of who I am and where I’ve been into the songs and have laid it all on the table. It’s 100% song driven as I’ve grown and wanted to come away from focusing on the guitar to allow myself to be more vulnerable in my writing. ‘Stronger’ is an example of that about not backing down, taking whatever comes to you and dealing with it in a positive way as you’ll feel like you just won a world title by the end.” Delving further, “The title track ‘Proverbial Storm’ can be taken as a relationship song where you feel you don’t match up to expectations with anyone, in any situation, but you have to remain true to yourself. It’s also a respectful nod to my past and welcoming what’s to come in the future.”

Working with multi-platinum award winning producer Mike Krompass (Everybody Loves An Outlaw, Steven Tyler) and recording at his state-of-the-art studio Base Culture has brought out what Andrew believes to be his best work to date. “There’s the delta-blues influences with hand claps in ‘Baby Don’t Love Me’ and foot stomps but there’s a far more contemporary sound to the guitars across the whole and we really focused on my vocal delivery taking precedence which I hadn’t done as much of in the past.

With this first offering AK & The Red Kites is now perched ready to soar throughout the rest of the year and beyond. “Ultimately I want the listener to interpret for themselves and take away what they choose from the EP…that it can relate to their own lives or help them out in a moment and to enjoy it as this is just the beginning. I can’t wait to get out and play these songs live and there’s a lot more to come yet!

Tom Killner Releases New Album ‘Borrowed Time’

Tom Killner who straddles the line between genres with soulfully infused blues, southern rock, country, and americana is proud to release his new album ‘Borrowed Time’ on CD, vinyl available direct from Tom HERE and on all digital platforms. The excited 28 year old award winning singer/songwriter free spirited Tom states with an infectious smile, “It has been a long time coming but it will take you on a rollercoaster that is life with hooky riffs and heartfelt songs and I assure you it’ll all have been worth the wait!

Accompanying the release is the uptempo feel good, sing-along video ‘Light It Up’, which with the changing season evokes images of warmer nights to come peppered with blistering guitar work and the bands engaging live show. “It’s one of the songs that’s been with us for a few years, it’s grown overtime and is super fun to play! The main theme is that it’s a good time song about being stuck in the 9-5 and you can’t wait for the weekend to down tools, kick off your boots, or put them on for a night out, and let your hair down!”

The 10 track collection bears an overarching story and is truly that of a modern day troubadour and to be aurally enveloped in a single sitting each listen, “I’ve always been around music from an early age and I really wanted to tell stories of characters you meet in life, relationships both good and bad, and of events and emotions that have moved or affected me in some way. For the first time in my life I experienced some mental health challenges in lockdown, like so many did, I partly used that as a catalyst to create and for those listening to relate to.” The Rotherham UK born award-winning powerhouse vocalist and guitarist goes on, “Some of the songs go back a way’, some were wrote in lockdown like ‘Cosmic Sounds’ which came to me in a moment of stillness and reflection with it swirling around my head and I just couldn’t let it go. ‘One Day At A Time’ is one where you may feel that you’ve lost it all but there’s something that spurs you along the road.

From the opening first notes the listener is swept along on a sonic journey that encompasses a myriad of styles, instrumentation and songwriting from the honky-tonk good time ‘On The Other Side’ to the simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting ‘No More’ through to the foot tapping and thoughtful title track ‘Borrowed Time’, “The band and I were jamming and it just flowed out. We’re only here once, and in this moment as the past doesn’t exist. We can’t waste time and life is long if you spend it right as it’s all just borrowed.” The album features the esteemed Sam Wood (Black Star Riders, Wayward Sons) on pedal steel and backing vocals are breathed throughout by the acclaimed musician Oli Brown and highly talented Kier with co-production/mixing and mastering handled by the much in-demand Wayne Proctor at his House of Tone Studios (King King, Aynsley Lister, Ben Poole, Nine Below Zero).

Winning over audiences across the UK and Europe with their highly dynamic show, Tom and the band features Wes Brook (keys, Hammond), Callum Houghton (bass) and Rich Hunter (drums) who throw down a memorable showcase of guitar slinging, emotional and foot-stomping hell-raising songs. Aligned with the new album release, it’s Tom’s busiest year to date having recently played the world famous 100 Club London for the first time to a rapturous reception. “We’re on tour during April supporting the new album and have a good number of festivals this year in Call of the Wild, Rockwich, SOS Festival, NWOCR Livefest and more to come. In May we hit the road in a double header with southern rockers American band Hush Money and then the legendary Preacher Stone from North Carolina in July. You’ll be seeing plenty of us that’s for sure as playing live is where it’s at for us with new songs, new venues, making new friends and having even more new experiences!

Eager for all to hear what he passionately believes to be his best work to date, Tom states, “I’m very grateful to all those who backed the new album Kickstarter campaign so I have to be true to them and all. I’ve really stuck to my guns with this album and haven’t once thought I had to conform to a specific style or way of writing and I’ve grown a lot as a person as a result. It’s my most honest and revealing album and I hope the listener can take something away from it for themselves.” Saddle up and join Tom Killner for a tapestry of a trip through ‘Borrowed Time’.

AK & The Red Kites Release Debut Single ‘Devil’s Stomp’

AK & The Red Kites are pleased to release the hook-laden debut single ‘Devil’s Stomp’ available now on all digital platforms. Pulling inspiration from a myriad of modern rock and legacy bands, the dark and brooding song would not be out of place on a hit dramatic TV show such as ‘Yellowstone’ or Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’.

A modern rock band with a retro infused vibe, AK & The Red Kites bear big riffs and vast melodic soundscapes. The cornerstone of this new exciting venture is frontman/guitarist Andrew Knightley, rising from the ashes of his previous band blues rockers Trident Waters. “‘Devil’s Stomp’ came about from a bunch of trips to the US and images of wastelands in the old Wild West, of a nefariously natured preacher man passing through taking his self-entitled dues from the local town folk.” Accompanying the single is the cinematic and sweeping video, “The original plan was to shoot in Joshua Tree US, but we ended up on the UK Yorkshire Moors with amazing weather conditions which really enhance the emotional charge of the song and the drone shots reflect the name of the band.

Having eloped to the Chiltern Hills UK during the global pandemic, Andrew began writing songs that would shape the project to come. “I wrote most of my new music looking out the window onto the woods and the Red Kites are always circling overhead. I felt a connection, that they were part of my inspiration, as they glided across the sky crying and going about their business. I wanted to honour that sense of freedom and protection that they have provided me with. AK & The Red Kites is a direct reference to my creative process and where I am now as a person.”

Working with multi-platinum award winning producer Mike Krompass (Everybody Loves An Outlaw), the forthcoming releases will showcase Knightleys eclectic range as a songwriter and musician; ranging from full on high tempo hard rockers to panoramic swamp vibes with incursions into country and blues rock territory in the vein of Rival Sons, Greta Van Fleet and ZZ Top.

There were about 25 tracks demoed and initially there were only going to be 10 recorded. As the process went on we decided to stretch that to 16 as there were too many strong tracks to whittle it down. It’s a really exciting project and I can’t wait for the world to hear what’s been cooking!” With audiences also promised a visually striking experience when the full band take to the stage, AK & The Red Kites is perched to soar throughout the rest of the year and beyond.

The Now Set To Release Debut Album ‘Too Hot To Handle’

Vibrant and attention grabbing rockers The Now are proud to announce their much awaited and highly dynamic debut album ‘Too Hot To Handle’ for release March 1 on CD/vinyl and all digital platforms via Trew Music, pre-order/pre-save HERE.

We’ve been really inspired by some of the brave stories told by people who have suffered from mental health.” Opening up the charismatic and engaging frontman Shane Callaghan says of the theme of the title track, “We all read some remarkable stories during men’s mental health week and still continue to read about the stresses that people can come under and we thought there’d be nothing better than writing a song about it and pulling in a collection of our experiences and stories in life so far across our debut.

The album title track opens and is swiftly followed by balls to the wall ‘Devil Inside Me’…with this hard hitting one-two they map out their clear intent to entertain, inspire and incite powerful emotions from the off. Highlighting the sonic breadth of the bands sound, the sweeping ballad Live And Die and the epic ‘Time Is Over are juxtaposed by the swirling Girl You Got Me and the defiant anthem ‘Get Out’ which reflects upon some of the nefarious characters that can be met along the way. It’s a safe bet to say that we have something for everyone and we’ve all been through difficult times in our lives – from emotional break ups, to the ever changing transitions we face and obviously the challenges of losing people close to us. We want to take our fans and new listeners on a journey and to pull out their own meaning for themselves from each of our songs.

Hailing from South Wales UK, the energetic 4 piece are made up of Shane (lead vocals/guitar), Callum Bromage (guitar/vocals), Jay Evans on (bass/vocals), Will Scott (drums), as a live band they ensure that not only will you see one of the best shows around, there’s a place for you to escape the mundane fallacies of day to day life and to be part of something bigger than you can imagine. Their hooky, instantly relatable music has been featured as a Planet Rock Track of The Week, on ITV, BBC Radio 2 Johnnie Walker Show, Sky Sports to name a few. The stunning debut was recorded at the highly renowned Real World Studios and produced by Grammy Award winning Oli Jacobs, (Peter Gabriel, The 1975).

Having supported Reef, Florence Black and shared the stage with legends in Placebo, Noel Gallagher, Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes, in addition to a rapturous reception at The Isle of Wight Festival and a fantastic ovation at Planet Rockstock they are on a mission to leave no head left unturned. The year ahead holds in store their headline album launch show at O2 Academy 2 Islington March 7 with tickets on sale HERE and a local appearance at Station 18 Festival, Hangar 18 Music Venue Swansea with more shows, festivals and ventures to Europe to be announced.

We believe ‘Too Hot To Handle’ really showcases our diverse range of writing and sound, we’re not to be pigeonholed into one way stylistically! Ultimately you can be who you want to be, make the music you believe in and you shouldn’t care what anyone says about what you choose to do in life as it’s simply too short.” Join The Now and live in the moment.
