The Loners Release New Single ‘The Game’

With their particular brand of indie alt/rock, The Loners, are an exhilarating and compelling 3 piece rock band from the UK made up of Nathan De La Mar on Lead vocals and Lead Guitar, Mark Munro on Backing Vocals and Bass Guitar and Stuart Grant on Backing Vocals and Drums.

Since their inception in 2019 The Loners have captured the attention of audiences all around the world with their catalogue of releases showcasing their catchy tunes, unadulterated energy, and thought-provoking lyrics.

The Loners take influence in their sound from the ultimate rock classics whilst also adding in  their own contemporary twist to the music creating a sound that is both nostalgic and avant-garde cutting edge at the same time.

The Loners have a raw genuineness about them that is both relatable and invigorating. Their lyrics they write strike a profound chord with listeners as they explore topics of love, self-discovery, and the human condition. Coupled with their ability to blur the lines of genre between indie and rock, The Loners are a breath of fresh air in a world of repetitive tunes and generic sounds that permeates so much of new music today.

The band have said of the track:-

“The Game was written during lockdown and it is basically about mental health and the effects it has on a person. The word “game,” is used as a metaphor about “Life” and how one might struggle to put on a front for everyone, but may be struggling internally”

‘The Game’ is straight off the bat with high octane power chords and dancing drum beats. Musically it’s ultimately a stadium worthy rock ballad filled with epic guitar solos and thrashing drums, but that is contrasted beautifully with wistful, thought provoking lyricism hinting at the seriousness of the inspiration behind the track. Mixing these two elements together and you really get a feel for where The Loners are trying to go with their music, breaking free from the restraints of what is considered the norm.

The Game was written by Nathan De La Mar and was Recorded and produced by Andrew Shepard at Venice of the North Studios.

Upcoming Gigs/Tours –

19/6/25 – Bannermans – Edinburgh
3/7/25 – Classic Grand – Glasgow
29/11/25 – Gig in Whitehaven (details TBC)

Fatal Vision Release New Single ‘In My Fantasy’

June 26, 2023, marks the triumphant return of Canadian melodic rock band Fatal Vision, with the release of their sophomore album Twice on the Pride & Joy Music label. Fatal Vision’s debut album Once re-introduced the band in 2022, charting at #10 on the Japanese import chart, and in Canada, Mexico and Switzerland on the iTunes rock chart, followed by the singles “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” (#15, Canada) and “Breakers” (#13, Canada).

“Once” featured a series of videos telling the story of “The Lead Singer and The Heartbreaker”, which have yielded over 300,000 YouTube plays and have driven the band’s Instagram and TikTok metrics ever higher.

Featuring lead singer Simon Marwood, who co-founded the band in 1988, guitarist Juan Miguel Gomez Montant, keyboard player Scottie Irving, drummer Alex Wickham and bassist Andrew Burns, Twice shows Fatal Vision continuing to delve into a rich tapestry of sounds both familiar and modern. The thirteen tracks nod to Fatal Vision’s key influences, including Survivor, Bad English, Loverboy, Night Ranger and REO Speedwagon.

The first single, “In My Fantasy”, is a hard rocker reminiscent of Bon Jovi at their peak, followed by the post-apocalyptic, Asia-like “Tomorrow Never Comes” and the obvious Alice Cooper influences of “Welcome to my Nightmare.” The album also features power ballads “End of the Dream” (a duet with upcoming Nashville female artist Christine Corless, also featured on Once), “The Last Summer Night”, and “Don’t Fall In Love With A Dreamer” (which includes a record-setting 26-second final note by Marwood) as well as the mid-tempo duet (again with Corless) “Time Has Left Us As Strangers”, the melancholic offering “Ghosts of Yesterday”, rock number “In The Middle Of The Night” and the triumphant conclusion “Start Again.”

Videos are being filmed for each of these tracks as an ongoing story of a lost love and the possibility of second chances is played out.

Once again, the album has been graced by hard rock royalty, including Alessandro Del Vecchio (Edge of Forever, Hardline), Harry Hess (Harem Scarem), Paul Laine (Danger Danger, The Defiants), Marc Lafrance (Loverboy, Motley Crue), JK Northrup (King Kobra, XYZ) and Jeff Scott Soto (Journey, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) on backing vocals, Mark Holden (Boulevard) on saxophone, and Northrup and Derry Grehan (Honeymoon Suite) contributing additional guitars. The album is mixed by Northrup and Ron Nevison (Heart, Survivor), with production by Del Vecchio, Hess, Marwood, Montant and Northrup.

The band is hitting the road to support Twice with dates in Canada, followed by a UK tour in August, and Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland to end the year.

“Excellent, well played and sung melodic rockers, featuring lots of quality guitar and keyboards.” – Simon Smith, Fireworks (for Once)

“A mixture of the classic 80’s AOR, but with an innovative, technically sophisticated, individual touch.” – Steve Leikeim, Break Out (for Once)

Said of the song by Simon: I wrote this song back in 1988 about a gal I had a massive crush on. I know exactly who it’s about, but unlike many of my other songs where I’ve told the person years later “hey, I wrote this about you”, I think this one I will take to the grave!

Mansfield Release New Single ‘The Nature Of A Troubled Mind’

The new EP from Danish indie rockers Mansfield takes listeners on a musical journey through conflicting emotions and a longing for authenticity.

On February 3rd, Copenhagen-based rock band Mansfield will release the EP ‘Come Rain or Shine’ as a follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Star-Crossed Lovers’ from 2020. With ‘Come Rain or Shine,’ Mansfield gives a clear nod to British indie rock tradition while adding a personal and contemporary touch. The four tracks reveal a new experimental approach to sound and musical arrangements, as shown on the singles ‘Chasing after You’ and ‘The Sky’s in Love with You’ released in the autumn of 2022. Both singles have gained airplay on Danish National Radio and across the world, especially in the UK, Canada, USA and Australia. The songs on ‘Come Rain or Shine’ were written during the pandemic and in its aftermath. Lead singer and songwriter Christian Stage says about the process, “During that point in time, I felt an urge to deal with all the frustration and conflicting emotions in my songwriting. Rather than addressing specific situations, I chose in my lyrics to express thoughts and feelings on a more universal and metaphorical level. I think this will make the songs resonate with people.”

The lead track of the EP, the mellow and captivating ‘The Nature of a Troubled Mind’, describes frustration and longing for love and acceptance. With its compelling guitar riffs and poetic lyrics, ‘The Nature of a Troubled Mind’ speaks directly to the listener, as the lead vocal soars above the instruments. The music video illustrates the themes of loneliness and longing by using symbolism and close-up shots of the band.

‘Come Rain or Shine’ turns a new chapter for Mansfieldsince the release of ‘Star-Crossed Lovers’ in 2020. The latter became a turning point for the band and received 4-and 5-star reviews in Danish and international music press.

‘Star-Crossed Lovers’ was awarded Album of the Week on Danish National Radio earning the band consecutive airplay ever since. Radio hosts and music critics have compared Mansfield to artists such as The Beatles, Oasis and The Kinks because of their sound and anthemic songwriting.

Mansfield’s recent performances at The Cavern Club, Liverpool have marked their entry on the international music scene. In February, Mansfield will support British rock band All The Young on part of their European tour, as they have been handpicked by All The Young’s lead singer Ryan Dooley. In the past, All The Young have toured with the likes of Morrissey, Kaiser Chiefs and The 1975.

‘Come Rain or Shine’ was recorded, mixed and mastered at Black Tornado Studio in Copenhagen by producer Morten Bue (Mew, Iceage, Tindersticks, Kashmir). The EP will be available on all streaming platforms on February 3, via record label DME
